If we cancel all student debt, ppl will want medical debt forgiven. If we cancel medical debt, they're going to want free healthcare. If we give them that, they'll want us to house the homeless. Then everyone's going to want a living wage. The whole society will fall apart.
Clarence Thomas writes, in a concurring opinion, that the Supreme Court should reconsider Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell — the rulings that now protect contraception, same-sex relationships, and same-sex marriage.
abolish the filibuster, pack the courts, do anything and everything to protect rights for all people against far-right minoritarian rule by a judiciary hostile to progress and equity.
republicans have been working toward creating a Court to strike down any legislation that doesn’t align with their values for decades.
that time has arrived. now it’s Roe v. Wade, tomorrow it’ll be anti-discrimination laws or the right to marry. it’s time to FIGHT.
People elected Democrats precisely so we could lead in perilous moments like these- to codify Roe, hold corruption accountable, & have a President who uses his legal authority to break through Congressional gridlock on items from student debt to climate.

2020: Breonna Taylor was murdered by police during a no-knock warrant.
2022: Amir Locke was murdered by police during a no-knock warrant.

⬇️the racial wealth gap from 12:1 to 5:1
1 person has the ability to cancel all student debt: President Biden. Let's get it done.
Why does Manchin, as the most conservative Democratic senator, get to dictate climate policy? It could just as easily be the most progressive senator, since they need every vote.
Future historians — if there are any future historians, that is, if civilization doesn't collapse — will be astonished that we let the planet burn for the sake of an industry that employs less than 3 percent of workers even in West Virginia
If you voted for @nithyavraman, about 16 people on a redistricting commission decided your vote didn’t count tonight. They erased her district. And barely anyone knows it happened.
It’s not over. City Council will vote on maps in December.
We have until then to let people know.
It says a lot that’s not good about American politics and society that $7.5 trillion for a decade on defense gets almost no debate while less than half of that investing in people and saving the planet is so hard to pass
