🚨 Bryan Mbeumo on a moment he'll never forget this season:
🗣️ Mbeumo:
“Towards the end of the season, I started feeling like I was cursed by the left post. Against Liverpool, Bruno gives me a perfect pass, I flick it and it hits the left post. Against Nottingham Forest, Cunha puts me through, I round the goalkeeper, shoot and somehow it hits the left post again.
At that point, every time I saw the left post, I felt like it was following me. Then came the goal that helped Bruno equal the assist record. Bruno puts in another great ball and as soon as I hit it, I had one thought: 'Please... not the left post again.'
Honestly, time stood still. The ball was heading so close to it that I felt like I was trying to move it with my mind. Fortunately, it went in. I don't think I've celebrated many goals harder than that one.
After the game, Amad came up to me and said: 'Bryan, be honest... when you hit that shot, you thought it was hitting the post again.' I told him:
'Of course I did.'
The funny thing is, I still don't think I reached my level this season. I look back and see chances I should've scored. For me, 15 league goals should be the minimum every season. So that's the target for next season.”
🚨 Casemiro on a funny moment he experienced at Manchester United this season:
🗣️ Casemiro:
“I remember the game against Fulham. Cunha dribbles into the box, gets fouled and the referee immediately points to the penalty spot. We were celebrating already. Then the Fulham players surrounded the referee and started protesting.
VAR checked it and decided the foul was actually outside the box. So the penalty was cancelled and we got a free-kick instead. At that point I remember looking at Cunha and thinking: 'These guys have just made your effort fruitless.'
Then Bruno puts in an unbelievable ball and I score from the free-kick. After the game, me and Cunha went over to their captain and asked him: 'Be honest... which one would you have preferred? The penalty or the free-kick goal?' He looked at us and said: 'Please... just leave me alone.' Then we thanked him for the protest and walked away.”
