Here’s the problem. Most companies will probably curtail overtime completely. Hiring actually might rise briefly to cover overtime hours lost. Companies that don’t curtail it will either lay off employees or raise prices or both to cover the difference. Either way, probably more employees would see a decrease in pay at the end of the day. Senator, you’re playing with fire here. Also, my company just raised the overtime 1.75.
@ZonaWC03@stephen_richer If everyone stops using AI then we don’t need data centers. That’s not going to happen. The need only ballons from here. Plus, China is full speed ahead with AI. Data centers are going to be built , but they do need to be built and operated smartly.
@stephen_richer The Yuma region (CA and AZ) produce about 90% of the winter lettuce domestically. The lettuce farmers and salad lovers are the losers here.
@GuntherEagleman No, I guarantee they don’t want the drama either. Plus they have their own people under contract. Romo is going to be unemployed for a bit.
Questions like this are why so many are single. These questions are subjective. Define providing for the family? What does that look like? Define being a good father? News flash, no man is perfect. Ask 1000 women both questions and you get 1000 different answers. There should be only one question? Does he follow Jesus? It’s pretty much a yes or a no.
@Caruzkcab There were issues in other said decades but not nearly as severe as 2023 and this year. The number and intensity of wildfires has been off the charts the last few years due to a combination of environmental and human factors.
The problem is that Canada has experienced as of late multiple fire seasons of record. Canada’s resources only go so far so they have to prioritize life and property. They have to leave fires in the middle of nowhere to burn. On top of all of this, the lack of forest management especially in tribal areas over decades has led to where we are today.
@SpeakerJohnson The current version bans mail in voting. Mail in voting works great (at least in AZ) and is far better than voting in person for many reasons. So, hard no on current version.
If Florida wants more sun in the evening they should petition Congress to move to Atlantic Standard Time Which is the same as Eastern Daylight Time.
On a side note, for those of you who are against the Electoral College, it exists for a reason. One State, in this case Florida, shouldn’t be allowed to bully other States around.
No excuse is being banned is my understanding. In AZ there is permanent list and the system works great. One way you have stand in line for possibly hours and have to vote in a 3x3 foot box and it’s timed with a mile long ballot. The other way, you don’t have to stand in line and can take your time and you can be at your kitchen table with your beverage of choice. 1st option, no thanks. Freedom doesn’t always have to mean suffering or being in the dark ages for the cause. Frankly. Mail in is the dark ages, we should all be voting by phone or tablet. Yes, it can be secure.
