This is terrifying. A woman stabbed another woman, totally unprovoked, while walking around downtown Portland.
I'm so glad the victim is going to survive.
I hope the perpetrator receives a life sentence, although I'm sure that isn't going to happen. I bet she was high on meth - there are so many of these meth head zombies walking around Portland over the last 5 years or so, randomly attacking innocent passersby.
We really need to get Portland Police staffing numbers up. It would help so much if we had enough police for officers to be stationed throughout the city, deterring criminal activity with their presence.

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - A woman remains in the hospital after what police described as an unprovoked stabbing in Old Town early Sunday morning.
“It truly was just completely random and out of the ordinary,” said Daniel Harrell.
His cousin Kayla Harrell was out in Old Town on Saturday night celebrating a friend’s birthday.
At around 1:45 a.m. Sunday on NW 6th Avenue near Flanders Street, as they were waiting to go home, Daniel said a woman walked up to Kayla.
Daniel said when his cousin spoke to the woman, the unthinkable happened.
“She said that she had punched her in the chest, but what actually happened is that she had been stabbed in the chest,” Daniel said. “And then quickly after that she was stabbed in the neck and then the shoulder.”
The Portland Police Bureau says when officers arrived, they found Kayla with several stab wounds and witnesses trying to help her.
Officers helped Kayla until paramedics took her to the hospital.
Daniel says since the attack, Kayla was intubated, needed a blood transfusion, and went through back-to-back surgeries.
“Her chest cavity her thoracic cavity started to fill up with blood and that is what had collapsed her lung,” said Daniel.
Officers say security guards were able to detain the suspect, 36-year-old Achillia A. Palmer. She’s facing several charges including attempted murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
Court documents show, she has a history of alleged violence dating back to 2011.
“This is not something you can do to people. But she wouldn’t want any harm or anything to happen to that person,” Daniel said.
Daniel says Kayla has committed her life to helping people as a behavioral tech, and she’s thankful people were around to help her during this horrific attack.
“She can’t stress enough just how wildly grateful she is to everyone that played a part in helping her literally survive that night,” said Daniel.
Palmer is expected in court on June 30.
Daniel said his cousin has a long road to recovery and is expected to be in the hospital for several more weeks.
They have set up a donation page to help her during this difficult time.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to submit a tip to PPB and reference case number 26-179773.
Islam is a danger to us all.
Thank you for apprehending this violent man, @PortlandPolice.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — A Portland man was arrested after police say he became irate over a woman's religion and attacked her as she tried to leave his home.
According to court documents, police were called to the 11000 block of Southeast Powell Boulevard just before 5 a.m. June 19.
A woman told police she is Christian and wears a cross necklace, which she says set off 32-year-old Mahamat Noh.
She said Noh began reciting several verses from the Quran, and she replied, "God has my back." Noh then responded, "F**k your God."
The woman said Noh grabbed and pulled her arms. She also said he put his hand on her neck and pushed her against a wall.
Another roommate told police he woke up and saw Noh hitting the woman.
According to court documents, another roommate said Noh is Muslim and becomes upset whenever he sees someone who is Christian.
After being arrested, Noh told police he was defending himself after the woman attacked him for reading the Quran.
When officers showed Noh photos of the woman's bruised arms, he reportedly said she was "burning from the inside."
Noh also said the roommate who reported witnessing the attack was "brainwashed."
Noh was arraigned Monday on two counts of bias crime and one count each of menacing and harassment.
Thanks for apprehending Jacob Meyer, @WoodlandPolice@SheriffCowlitz.
Let's hope the courts given him a life sentence, although I won't hold my breath.

A Woodland man is facing kidnapping and rape charges after deputies say two women were driven to a remote area in Cowlitz County and threatened with a knife.
Investigators say the women left a Portland club on Thursday morning with 33-year-old Jacob Meyer.
The women had called an Uber for a ride home, but police say a friend recommended Meyer instead.
Deputies say Meyer drove them near Austin Point outside Woodland, refused to take them home, demanded sexual favors, threatened to kill them, and sexually assaulted one of the women.
The women flagged down a passerby for help.
Deputies and Woodland police arrested Meyer nearby.
He’s now facing multiple charges, including kidnapping, rape, and felony harassment.

This man raped a young child, then repeatedly punched a female corrections officer in the face while he was in custody.
23 years isn't long enough. This man will only be 46 years old when released, or even younger if he's released early - still plenty young enough to inflict all sorts of horrific abuse on others. And raping a little kid PLUS severely assaulting a corrections officer should be death penalty!
Thank you for apprehending child predator Reid Michael Squires, @EugenePolice@LaneSheriffOR.

Eugene man who raped child, attacked deputy gets 23 years
A Eugene man will spend nearly 23 years in prison for raping a child and assaulting a jail deputy, according to the Eugene Police Department.
EPD officials said that Reid Michael Squires, 23, was sentenced to 205 months for sex crimes against an early elementary school-age child. He received an additional 70 months for second-degree assault on a Lane County Sheriff's Office corrections deputy. After his release, Squires will be under supervision for 20 years and must register as a sex offender for life.
Eugene Police took a report on July 18, 2025, after the victim's family confronted Squires about the abuse. He left his home following the confrontation.
Police worked with the Lane County Sheriff's Office to track down Squires. An officer and detective wrote a search warrant, which a judge signed. Police then sent out an attempt to locate notice to nearby agencies.
A sheriff's deputy remembered seeing someone matching Squires' description at an unhoused camp in Veneta. On July 22, 2025, officers searched the area and found Squires near a public pool in Veneta. He gave a false name but was safely arrested and taken to Lane County Jail on charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sodomy and first-degree sex abuse.
While waiting for trial, Squires attacked a female corrections deputy without warning. The deputy was seriously hurt. Another inmate who was out of his cell stopped Squires from continuing the attack until more staff arrived and restrained him.

Thank you to the Marion County Sheriff's Office for apprehending Juan Carlos Elias-Perez.
Article from June 2, 2026 by Michaela Bourgeois of @KOINNews:
A man was sentenced to prison after threatening a woman at her Marion County apartment, during what authorities described as a “parent or guardian’s nightmare.”
On Tuesday, the Marion County District Attorney’s Office announced that 36-year-old Juan Carlos Elias-Perez was sentenced to four years in prison after he was found guilty of unlawful use of a weapon and second-degree criminal mischief.
The case goes back to December 14, 2025 when Salem police and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to an apartment on Sunnyview Road NE.
Just after 4 a.m., the victim – identified by authorities as H.W. – woke up to banging on her windows and front door, officials said.
When she opened the front door, the woman saw Elias-Perez holding a knife and telling her to walk towards him, according to the district attorney’s office.
H.W. feared for her safety, and the safety of her three children and grandchildren (ages 4, 9 and 10) who were sleeping inside the apartment, immediately shut and locked the door and called 911, officials said.
Authorities found Elias-Perez several hundred yards away and arrested him.
At the time of the incident, officials said Elias-Perez was a stranger to the victim, noting his listed residence is in Issaquah, Washington.
“This incident is a parent or guardian’s nightmare. No one should have to open their door to this — especially within their own home with children present. The victim was offering help but instead experienced being threatened with a knife,” said District Attorney Elect Brendan Murphy. “A victim’s fear is something we try to consider when deciding an appropriate sentencing recommendation, and (Deputy District Attorney Braden Wolfe’s) prison recommendation was the right result here.”
Officials noted that Elias-Perez was also convicted in another case from November 2024.
In that case, Elias-Perez entered a “secure” laundry room at an apartment complex along Market Street. After entering the room and “disturbing belongings,” Elias-Perez was confronted by the property’s security manager, according to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
After a struggle ensued, the manager forcibly removed Elias-Perez from the room. From there, officials said Elias-Perez started to throw rocks, one of which hit the manager in the arm.
After the manager retreated and shut the laundry room door, Elias-Perez continued throwing rocks, which damaged the building and broke a window, officials said.
A jury later found him guilty of second-degree criminal mischief.
Thank you to @WoodburnPolice, Marion County Sheriff's Office, and Hubbard/Donald PD for apprehending this man.

Thank you for managing this 12 hour armed stand off hostage situation with Bennie D. Miller IV, @PortlandPolice.
Now, if only we could count on him being sentenced by an unbiased judge - but instead, it's likely he will be sentenced by a far left activist judge, thanks to 40 years of Democrat Governors appointing Oregon judges.
On June 5, Portland police issued a shelter in place order for the Hazelwood neighborhood of NE Portland due to an armed stand off with Bennie D. Miller IV, 39.
After hours of negotiation that included communications from the Crisis Negotiation Team, police used tear gas and flash-bang grenades to try to drive the suspect out of an apartment, but instead he climbed on the apartment building's roof.
From the @KATUNews article:
Victim says he's done this before
A KATU reporter at the scene spoke to the freed hostage Friday evening shortly before the suspect was arrested. She did not want to be identified but told KATU that she was held hostage by her boyfriend at gunpoint while on the phone with her sister. Her sister called 911. The man let her go when police arrived. She said he threatened to kill himself when police told him he was surrounded.
The woman said her boyfriend has mental health issues and has done this before.
Before he was arrested, the man appeared several times on the roof of the apartment complex. He appeared to say things to officers below.
Police said the man went to the roof after they deployed CS gas. They also used several munitions, including flash-sound devices and OC vapor.
"He spent a lot of time in that [gas] and was affected, but not enough to convince him to give up," said Sgt. Kevin Allen. "So, eventually enough gas was deployed that it convinced him to go out, but he was able to climb up onto the roof of the apartment building. He was up there for a while too."
Allen said the suspect being on the roof made things more complicated.
"We were really concerned about the safety of everyone with him being up there," Allen said. "He's in an elevated position. Obviously, we knew he had a gun at one point, so we didn't know if there was a gun involved up there."
"We worried about him falling and we worried about putting officers up there to confront him because they also had the risk of falling, so the efforts were made for quite a while to resolve this," he continued. "And the incident commanders are always doing this cost-benefit analysis in their heads."
Officers dressed in full armor used a Portland Fire & Rescue bucket truck to deploy officers to the apartment's roof.
"When confronted by the police on the roof, the suspect grabbed a branch of a nearby tree and used it to swing down to the ground," the Portland Police Bureau said in a news release.
Officers and a police dog were there to meet him and took him into custody. They said he was being medically evaluated.
"He fell a ways, but amazingly, not injured as far as we can tell from the fall from the second floor," said Allen.
While police kept people back during the standoff, spectators crowded behind police tape to watch the incident unfold.
Allen confirmed with KATU that police have responded to the apartment unit before and said there are other investigations going on. "At this point right now, we're just gonna charge him for crimes committed today, but they're investigating some of those previous cases to see if maybe now that we have additional information, there might be enough to level some additional charges," Allen said.
Per a @portlandpolic news release:
Miller was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of Coercion-Domestic Violence, Unlawful Use of a Weapon-DV, Menacing-DV, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He is also charged with Criminal Mischief in the First Degree for causing serious damage to two police robots assigned to the Explosives Disposal Unit.
Per Jamie Hale of the @oregonian:
This was not Miller’s first run-in with police. According to court records, he first faced felony robbery charges in 2002 as a minor. In 2011, when Miller was convicted of assault, strangulation and other charges, a judge found him guilty except for insanity, placing him under the care of Psychiatric Security Review Board.
Miller was in and out of the court system after that, records show. In 2023, he was convicted of two counts of burglary and sentenced to jail for two years.

Why do sex offenders flock to Oregon?
Portland has the most strip clubs per capita of any city in the nation (and where there's strip clubs, there's trafficking).
We are on Interstate 5 between Seattle & Cali cities, plus Mexico further south (traffickers like the convenience).
Oregon has lax laws on sex offenders, thanks to Democrat control for 40 years.
Oregon protects illegal aliens from deportation - thanks to Democrats declaring Oregon a "sanctuary state" - even if they are felony sex offenders.
Our homeless services are insanely generous, and many SOs are homeless/jobless after prison.
We have a large libertarian population, which is a men's sexual degeneracy ideology.
We cater to gender ideology ("trans").
What are some other reasons, friends?

Bend police arrest man in sexual abuse case, seek additional victims
Bend Police arrested 19-year-old Alex Roger Stanley today, on suspicion of sexual abuse charges involving a minor.

‘Nightmare scenario’: Man who broke into Portland home, tried to assault woman holding baby, sentenced
A man who burst into a woman’s home and attacked her while she fought back and tried to shield her 10-month-old baby has been sentenced to 22 years.
Judson Defir, 43, pleaded no contest and guilty Thursday afternoon to kidnapping, attempted rape, sexual abuse, attempted sexual abuse and public indecency in Multnomah County Circuit Court. In addition to assaulting the woman, he was convicted of assaulting three others.
On March 15, one of the victims was at home playing with her 3-year-old and 10-month-old daughters while her husband was outside doing yard work. The woman, who was holding the baby, heard a man say “Honey, I’m here,” realized it wasn’t her husband, then saw the foul-smelling stranger at the threshold of the bedroom door, she told police, according to a probable cause affidavit.
The woman pushed the 3-year-old behind her into a corner before Defir grabbed her and pulled her across the hall to the guest bedroom, according to the affidavit. The woman, still holding the baby, fought and kicked Defir, trying to escape, but he pushed her facedown onto a bed and pulled down her clothes.
She recalled in court how Defir smiled while her older daughter screamed and kept smiling as Defir let go of her so he could pull down his pants.
That moment gave the woman a chance to put the baby down in her nursery, she said. Once she had placed the baby in the crib, she ran to the other child and barricaded the door with a bookshelf as Defir tried to force himself into the room, according to the affidavit. She realized with horror that she’d left the baby alone, within Defir’s reach.
But the barricade gave the woman a chance to yell to her husband for help, and Defir fled.
Police found Defir being followed by about 15 people pointing toward him. Police said he “leered” at the female officer who placed Defir in handcuffs and attempted to hit on her.
“This was absolutely a nightmare scenario by every account,” said District Attorney Nathan Vasquez.
Defir told investigators he had smoked meth that morning and attended a pancake breakfast at the church near Southeast Clinton Street and 67th Avenue, according to the affidavit. He denied attacking anyone but acknowledged hearing the woman screaming inside the home and said he “accidentally bumped into the woman.”
Defir was indicted on charges of attempted rape, sexual abuse, assault, kidnapping and burglary for attacking the woman. He was also indicted on charges of sexually abusing three other women on the same day and exposing his genitals in public.
The women shared in court how the attacks shattered both their sense of safety and the South Tabor community’s sense of safety.
Defense attorney Elizabeth Wolozin said Defir was pleading no contest to most of the charges because he was so high he did not remember assaulting the women.
“This incident was horrifying and extremely sobering for him,” Wolozin said. “Mr. Defir is extremely motivated to never touch methamphetamine again.”
Defir appeared emotional in court, crying while he apologized to the women.
“I wish I could change the past, but I can’t, I can only change the future and do better in the future. That’s all I can do,” he said.
Defir’s mother spoke in court, saying Defir has struggled with methamphetamine addiction and grief from the death of his partner.
In 2024, Defir was arrested for chasing and screaming at two young girls in a park and for lying naked in a driveway while intoxicated, court records show.
He was sentenced to a year of probation in that case but failed to complete a required substance abuse class, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
Defir has been arrested more than a dozen times in the past 25 years, court records show, including for first-degree criminal mischief, fourth-degree assault, DUII and first-degree criminal mistreatment.
