@dpoddolphinpro@NASASpaceflight@FACh_Chile You guys really are the best! I wish your live coverage had an option to go to the live broadcast though since there’s really no comparison for SpaceX views. Your tracking shots are amazing to watch for recap, especially for booster booms.
Phyllis Webstad, the woman behind Orange Shirt Day, didn’t attend a residential school and says in her memoir that she liked her public school teacher so much that she wished she could take her home.
“The Mission was the place where we slept and ate. When I attended in 1973, there were 272 students in total, boys and girls. All of the students were bussed into Williams Lake to attend public school, about 20 minutes away. ... I liked my teacher there, she had crazy red curly hair, she smelled good, and she was kind — I wished she could take me home with her.”
I don’t blame her. Here’s how Webstad’s aunt describes life on the Dog Creek reserve where she and Phyllis grew up:
“There was lots of violence and drinking on the reserve. Many times at Granny Suzanne’s, we had to hide ourselves for our safety, usually in the sweat house or the haystack by the creek. My two uncles lived with us. One of them abused me sexually, and the other abused me mentally and physically. He would beat me and my brother with sticks and anything he could get his hands on. He even bullwhipped us once.”
There is no conspiracy to steal Native kids from their homes. There are hundreds of years of priests, nuns, and other Christian Canadians taking care of needy Indigenous children out of genuine compassion and concern. These selfless and heroic acts of love deserve the respect and admiration of our entire nation.
Next Orange Shirt Day, we can wear black and white to honour them.

@MattWalshBlog I’m all for the death penalty, but your justification is unsound. There are tons of examples in the old testament where god prescribed things he didn’t want due to the harness of the heart of ancient Jews. The death penalty is also in the New Testament WRT milestones and kids.
@Tobinatorx@farian_pasta@CP24 Yeah, lots of people died back then. The claim was “mass graves and genocide” not cemeteries with wooden crosses that deteriorated over time.
@DrNeilStone@MaryBowdenMD You were wrong on your principle though, that’s important to recognize. If I make someone’s life difficult if they don’t “agree” to sleep with me that’s rape. Coercion has long been established as force.
Work mandates are coercion, and by the same principle “forcing someone”.
Starship’s 14th flight is set to launch on Monday, Sept 28. The 75-minute launch window opens at 7:15 a.m. CT. Live coverage of the mission starts ~35 minutes before launch → https://t.co/uQKQvgaTmJ
@ElephantSignal Those parents of those bullies should be cautious. That father probably doesn’t have much keeping him from settling things with the parents that did nothing.
@lincolnmjay@ezralevant These police have lost the plot. Time to quit if you’re asked to do this. Worried about your pension? Weasel your way out with a medical release. They asked you to show up to a drug den and remove a reporter? Sorry I have diarrhoea all of a sudden.
