I’ve always wanted to get back to 3D game programming.
But I hated learning Unreal's massive user interfaces. Even Godot didn't feel simple enough to build anything meaningful in one sitting.
Today I prompted my way through a whole custom "3D engine" in C++. This is the way!
@RobertBeckebans Exactly this!
And I'm not saying I'll carry on and publish it on Steam next week. But it's possible to get something playable in just a few hours. Plus you own the whole rendering pipeline so there are no limits 😉
Building on yesterday’s one-day game engine success, I made another game that I’d always wanted to play.
At least until I bought YouTube Premium and stopped seeing ads like this.
@MooncastOnline It's about 5k LOC in total. And it sits in a single file.
Most of the features were one-shotted by GPT 5.5 except for the font rendering. It couldn't fix atlas coords for over 15 minutes!
@exPodlachia@rafaelmet@_zboral Szach mat.
@msftClarity your website and most importantly the dashboard itself haven't been working for 2 weeks now.
It's just a blank screen with these errors. It's really bad. It happens even on a different device/network.
@bandyci_drogowi Gdzie problem?
@bandyci_drogowi Nagrywający kamerką to bandyta drogowy.
