@CharlesTannock August 1972 spent a day in Košice, en route Budapest to Kraków, during InterRail Greece to UK. Marked contrast to Hungary+Poland, Czechoslovakia felt under Soviet boot; vaguely remember well-attended cathedral and museum, surreptitiously befriended by a 'guide' keeping eye on me!
