@maltfridge @Sworn_To_Valor @AmEyeRong @WhackNicholson@Mediawatcher36 Again, read the entry from the OED. If there is an expert on the English language, it is them. The usage of the word "sound" to mean the impression caused by written language is well established. You might also want to look up the word metaphor while you are there.
@Nananacka @DoctorPizzaMD@eevee That because group A (sports fans/Christians) has traditionally persecuted group B (your definition of nerds/Jews), then group A and group B can't be categorized the same way (nerds/religions).
@Nananacka @DoctorPizzaMD@eevee Why is that a problem? Other people being nerds about a subject does not diminish the joy you can take your subject. If this is about persecution (i.e., jocks vs nerds), then what you are saying is equivalent to saying you can't put Christianity and Judaism in the same category.
@jickup@VirginiaGinner1 @Drailxthecircus @ManuelVenator1 We are "designed" for persistence hunting not directly attacking. This is why we (unlike most animals) sweat.
@jickup@VirginiaGinner1 @Drailxthecircus @ManuelVenator1 Only if you are going to believe that we are meant to only do easy things. And then you are stuck with a problem of how easy it must be to be right. Of course, the fundamental problem here is assuming that things were created with a purpose and morality follows from that design.
@samziz @4thstringer @wbm312@Patreon You can already achieve this with virtual credit cards from vendors like https://t.co/99t5bMRXRf (Stripe has a service as well).
@samziz @4thstringer @wbm312@Patreon The process would start with creating a support call with the vendor where you tell them that they charged you incorrectly. If they don't issue a refund, then you would create a chargeback with your credit card company and provide the evidence that they charged you incorrectly.
@samziz @4thstringer @wbm312@Patreon The benefit of the token is that it only lets you charge the card as the company that the token was issued to and the API call to charge also requires an API key. So a leaked token can't be used by itself. Even if you had a different TokenEx account, you couldn't use the token.
@4thstringer @wbm312@Patreon Patreon likely only has access to the token (not an NFT, just a unique value created by TokenEx), the bin (the first six digits that identify which bank issued the card), the last four digits, and the name on the card. Using the token, they can request a charge or issue a refund.
@NWChiFiets@DavidZipper@jenniferdaniel @neonbabel I am not being dismissive. I am saying you are talking to the wrong group. There is a way to represent what you want in Unicode. When you see πΊπΈ do you care that it is made up of πΊ and πΈ? When you see π§πΏβπ¦², do you care that it is made up of 4 codepoints? What you want is πβ .
