1/ Look at what someone, mm, “leaked”—a few pages from @declanwalsh's handwritten personal diary, which apparently he keeps in a Hello Kitty binder. Troubling overuse of red hearts when he jots his ‘i’s.
I’m just back from India and what I saw there was a bullish nation, brimming with excitement. It has some hurdles to clear, but I lay out a path for it to truly become an incredible India.
My take:
@ForeignAffairs smh. that fp still thinks de waal has any credibility on african affairs.... it's like asking MTG to pontificate on science because she mentioned space lasers once. unserious. time to make the editors sit though a new dei training session. https://t.co/u7gtd0uPDK
1/3 @JMeservey please listen to this👇 toxic statement by Alex de Waal, one of the panelists. For argument sake assume this toxic statement was made about US, at a time when it was fighting a dangerous war. What would you have said?... @jeffpropulsion
Bolivia’s home-grown electric vehicle has a top speed of 35 mph, fits just three people and can go only 60 miles on a charge. Its inventors insist it is Latin America’s automotive future. https://t.co/KE58eWoNBJ
Exclusive: Amnesty International is sitting on a report it commissioned by an independent panel of experts who scrutinized - and criticized - its disputed accusation that Ukrainian forces had a pattern of illegally endangering civilians. Here's the report. https://t.co/dC26sdlADG

Tried not to bring household items to Addis in order to support local businesses. But 150,000 birr for a sofa?! Does it make you breakfast, one Wonqette asked a salesperson. Salesperson glared and picked up an iPhone 14 and started dooms scrolling about mouthy disaporans.
uh-huh. uh huh. uh huh. Our new overlords in Addis are insufferable about shaking down citizens. It is almost comical. Had to pay 3000 birr to ELPA workers who would not come to change the fuse at a transformer before they had shai money. Ridiculous.
In most African countries citizens tell pollsters that graft is getting worse. High-profile scandals among bigwigs are one reason for that, but for most people it is because they still face regular shakedowns from officials and the police https://t.co/wQeuLq7s5h
@fitsumaregaa 🤔does this mean his Lordship the Lord-iest of the Lords @SirMarkLowcock and Lord-adjacent but Lord Wannabe (and sometime gardener) @JosepBorrellF, and 'Luke, I am your Lord!' Lord to the nth degree @DavidAltonHL finally concede that there was not genocide in Tigray?
@DrTedros@WHO an occasional reminder that you egged on an insurrection in #ethiopia on behalf of your elite friends and were ok with kids being used as cannon fodder.
ooh chi'le. @RSonderriis brings it, and then takes. him. down. @MITMITA, how has @PatrickWight1 escaped our radar? he strikes us as that guy who does goat yoga while wearing a dashiki.
THE EDUCATION OF PATRICK WIGHT
(A thread of 13 tweets)
Why is @PatrickWight1, Exec. Editor of Ethiopia Insight, obsessed with scholars Ann Fitz-Gerald (@afitz3105) and @BronwynBruton? He has even accused of “lobbying for Eritrea” (see below), which is clearly defamatory.

Memorably, French President Emmanuel Macron said that Europe cannot blindly follow the United States’ lead and should avoid “getting dragged into crises that are not our own.”

look who is suddenly concerned about africa? 🤣after being a paid mercenary for so long? one solution: helpful if the barely literate staff at your shop would stop hawking war and start pumping the brakes on fetishistic genocide talk. but what do we know?
"The maps below are already outdated. Armed conflict erupting in Sudan, Somaliland bombing civilians in Las Anod, genocide in Tigray, coup d'etat making a comeback, Wagner and China in Africa shows that the West's recent hands-off approach to Africa is not working"
fox does not want tucker et al to testify under oath. so why didn't they settle *before* all causing all the damage? knowing what was unfolding in discovery? weapons-grade clusterf*. https://t.co/g617A4DxYR
