@shuvmajumdar@afterwinter1719 Thank you @shuvmajumdar for standing with innocent families, whether those who are oppressed in Iran or those who are experiencing severe hardships in Canada only because of mandatory conscription. Human rights should not be selective and need to be applied to every victim.
Canada, what was their crime?
Why should people be branded as terrorists and face deportation because they were forced to serve in the IRGC? They did not choose their assignment. Refusing compulsory service meant losing access to basic rights and opportunities. What kind of “choice” is that?
They spent years studying, working, raising families and building a life. Why should all that effort be erased because of something they never freely chose?
And their children—what have they done wrong?
Why should a child carry the stigma of a parent’s forced military assignment? Why should they lose their home, their school, their friends and the only life they may remember? How do you look a child in the eyes and explain that their future is being taken away because of a decision their father was never allowed to make?
Protecting Canada matters. So does distinguishing forced service from willing participation. Judge people by their own actions, not simply by the uniform they were compelled to wear.
A law that cannot recognize coercion is unjust. Making children bear its consequences deepens that injustice.
These are human lives, not disposable files. Years of sacrifice should not end in a suitcase at the door.
Please stop treating compulsory service as proof of terrorist allegiance. Do not make families pay forever for a choice they never had.

#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
Imagine being forced into military service just to get a basic job or a passport, and then getting blamed for it. Young guys in Iran have zero choice, and punishing them for compulsory service just isn't fair. #JusticeForIranianConscripts#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
@SameerZuberi Happy Thanksgiving, @SameerZuberi 🍁 Former Iranian conscripts are facing refusals for forced service they never chose. Their families and Canadian children are living in fear. Please push for clear guidelines and fair individual assessments.
#ConscriptsAreNotMembers
Canada must issue clear guidelines for IRCC and CBSA to distinguish people forced into compulsory conscription from genuine IRGC members. Mandatory conscription alone should not be used to punish innocent applicants. Protect national security through fair assessment.
