⏳ What if I told you the youngest rum in this bottle is 12 years old, while some of it has been aging since before you were born❓

🍹 In this Drink Chat with Nat, we’re tasting the El Dorado 12-Year-Old Rum.
🍯 It’s pure decadence with aromas of caramelized toffee, molasses, and a hint of dark spice.
🏺 Unlike other rums, the age statement on all El Dorado Rum labels reflects the youngest rum in the blend, with many rums in the blend being much older.
🍷 The El Dorado 12-Year-Old may also have the 15-Year-Old or the 21-Year-Old to provide the consistent depth of flavour.
🍶 The distillery has been making rum since the 17th century and houses the world’s oldest stills, including the Wooden Coffey Pot Still, the last fully working example of its kind.
🕰️ Named after Aeneas Coffey, it resembles his original 1832 continuous still.
🍬 Blends are perfected over centuries and crafted in small batches, producing artisanal rum from the finest Demerara sugar, not factory-scale production.
🥩 Serve it neat to savour the depth, on the rocks to soften the edges, or pour alongside grilled pork tenderloin glazed with brown sugar and cloves.
☕ Its richness also makes it a perfect companion for dark chocolate cake.
🧪 Fascinating fact: Master Blender Shaun Caleb was born and raised in Guyana and studied at Princeton University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with Honours.
🔬 He returned to Guyana to apply his expertise in distillation. Shaun samples dozens of rums daily, developing a keen ability to assess the depth and organoleptic qualities of fresh rums long before they reach the bottle.
💵 At $51.95, this handcrafted rum represents tremendous value for such heritage and complexity.
🏆 I’d rate it 94 points for quality and value.

🍷 Rioja is known for its red wines but have you tried this $14 white that is their best-kept secret❓

🎙️ In this Wine Chat with Nat we're tasting the Beronia Viura from Rioja, Spain.
🍏 It's a crisp white that opens with aromas of green apple, pear, citrus zest, and white flowers, with a subtle lift of fennel in the background.
🥂 On the palate, it’s light-bodied, dry, and zesty with refreshing acidity and 12.5% alcohol, finishing clean and mouthwatering.
❄️ Serve it well-chilled with grilled sea bass and lemon, where the citrus notes echo beautifully, or alongside a summer salad of arugula, goat cheese, and green apple for a lively pairing.
🍃 Best enjoyed within the next couple of years to capture its vibrant freshness.
🍾 Fascinating fact: Beronia was founded in 1973 by a group of friends who loved food and wine, and it has since become one of the most admired wineries in Rioja.
🍇 This Viura is a showcase of the region’s classic white grape, rarely given the spotlight in a region best known for red wines.
💸 At $13.95, it’s a terrific value for a wine this well-made.
🏅 I’d rate it 90 points for its quality-price ratio.

Doug Ford warns Donald Trump "he has absolutely no idea" what he's doing by getting into a trade war with Canada.
"I'm a different cat ... I'll fight right to the death — not that there's going to be any deaths," the Ontario premier adds.
“Fundamentally a second Trump term could mean the end of American democracy as we know it.”
In a joint interview with ABC News, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Cassidy Hutchinson, and Sarah Matthews, three conservative former Trump administration officials warned America of the danger of a second Trump term, and pledged to vote for President Biden if Trump is the GOP nominee:
“I’ve never voted for a Democrat in my life, but I think that in this next election, I would put policy aside and choose democracy”
