Empowering our grassroots textile clusters to compete on the global stage .Through Textiles Export Facilitation Centres (TEFCs), the Government is strengthening local capacities by providing training, export handholding, regulatory guidance, and market intelligence. This initiative is enabling MSMEs, weavers, and entrepreneurs to access new markets, enhance competitiveness, and contribute to sustained growth in India’s textile exports. A strong step towards Atmanirbhar Bharat and making India a preferred global textile hub.

Had an excellent meeting with PM Anwar Ibrahim at Seri Perdana earlier today. India and Malaysia are maritime neighbours who have always enjoyed a close friendship. We reviewed developmental cooperation in sectors like trade, infrastructure, energy, IT, biotechnology and more. We also agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of security, defence, AI, digital technologies and semiconductors.

The Interim Agreement sets out a clear tariff framework, with the United States applying a reciprocal tariff rate of 18 percent on originating goods of India. Key export sectors covered include textiles and apparel, leather and footwear, plastic and rubber, organic chemicals, home décor, artisanal products and certain machinery. The framework provides predictability and clarity for exporters, strengthening India’s export engagement with the US market.

Viksit Bharat Budget 2026 reinforces fiscal federalism in action. Centre to State transfers have surged from ₹6.3 lakh crore in 2013-14 to ₹26.2 lakh crore in 2026-27 marking more than a fourfold rise. Backed by rising tax revenues, GST stabilisation and reforms, this enables States to scale health, education, infra and grassroots development. This is a government committed to empowering every State and building a stronger Bharat together.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent says EU has refused to put tariffs on India because they 'want to sign big trade deal with India'. Calls actions of Europeans 'act of stupidity' for buying refined energy from India.
Narendra Modi — India will not compromise the interest of its farmers. I am ready to pay the price for it on personal level.
US Agriculture secretary — US farm products will reach Indian market as per US-India trade deal..
What price did Modi pay on personal level?
I spoke to Ambassador @USAmbIndia
Who confirmed that the reciprocal tariffs on India had been reduced from 25 to 18%.
Also, that the additional Russian oil tariffs of 25% had been removed.
India and the US have reached a trade deal.
Modiji has undoubtedly given many firsts to India. Learning from Trump’s X account about how India will not buy Russian oil & details of US India trade deal (before any Indian announcement) is certainly a first. Jai Modiji
