Miss State: 12th SOS
4-6 in SEC series (1-1 SEC Tourney)

Arkansas: 8th SOS
7-3 in SEC series (3-1 SEC Tourney)

Arkansas having the second-most Quad 1 wins per RPI and being ranked 21st by the same metric, and not hosting, is yet-another example of why RPI should be thrown out. (Razorbacks should have hosted due to being 13 in KPI and DSR, anyway).

The NCAA Selection committee gave the SEC seven of the 16 host sites.

Mississippi State got the last spot. They finished one game behind Arkansas in the standings, lost head to head series in Fayetteville, and went 1-1 in Hoover.

I guess they couldn’t keep a 40 win team from hosting. Their RPI was 13 and they had 9 quad 1 wins.

Arkansas RPI was 21 and 18 quad 1 wins. The only teams in the top 18 of the RPI not to host are USC (9) and Ole Miss (16). Kansas at 18 had lowest RPI of any host.
