On such a tragic day in Minnesota, it's also a reminder of the importance of local journalism. The local TV stations had coverage all day. Writers/Journalists worked for hours, and are still working, to provide information to the public. It's not an easy task.
And it matters.
Assassinations of U.S. politicians in the 21st Century are almost unprecedented. The only other U.S. politicians to be killed in the 21st Century are a NC State Senator (nearly exactly a decade ago), a diplomat in 2012, a Kirkwood Mayor in 2008 and a NY City Councilman in 2003
