So, I’d just met one of my best long distance writer’s group friends (shoutout @wordgrower) IRL for lunch, and when I got home... I realized The Email had been sitting in my inbox... for seven hours. I still have NO IDEA how I missed the notification 😂

THE TYPES OF WRITERS
✧ writes Soft Things then makes readers suffer
✧ has bitten and will bite again if interrupted
✧ just a stack of toast crumbs in a trench coat
✧ plans novels and jots down wizarding tips in the same notebook
✧ hasn't stopped screaming since 1785
The single best nugget of writing advice I've ever heard comes from @neilhimself : "When people tell you something’s wrong or doesn’t work for them, they are almost always right. When they tell you exactly what they think is wrong and how to fix it, they are almost always wrong."
I just feel like this is SUCH an important concept. Your readers don't have the insider knowledge of your work — there's no way they can know the inner workings of your story like you do. But when something doesn't work, it doesn't work, and you don't need that insider knowledge.
