@SkyeSong777 It’s awful you and your creativity were treated that way. I’d encourage you to claim the identity of musician no matter what messages to the contrary you’re bombarded with. If it’s important enough to you to talk about now, then it’s part of you!
@SkyeSong777 Yeah, that resonates! It took me a long time to realize that many people don’t parse words the way I do, so when I put so much thought into choosing just the right words and they don’t notice, it’s not because they’re not paying attention (or whatever). It’s a brain difference.
@SkyeSong777 It all made sense to me. The only thing I really know to do with my pain is sob and bawl and wail, and I do it most days. It’s made a real difference over time. But I live along and don’t have to deal with anyone being confused about it or judging me.
@SkyeSong777 I hope you do get clarity. There is, of course, a meaningful difference between *being* ready for something and *feeling* ready for something, but yeah, just cuz a door opens doesn't mean you rush right through.
@SkyeSong777 Since we block out trauma because we can’t deal with it, it’s always made all the sense to me that if a memory comes back, that inherently means we’re ready to deal with it.
@chaoticgood I’d love to see a limited series adaptation of Connie Willis’s To Say Nothing of the Dog, and I think SA Chakraborty’s Daevabad trilogy would make a fantastic series.
