@GivingTuesday Hello! I have a question about what is considered innovative? Does it have to be innovative compared to other actions in your country or local area? Or would something innovative for your organization be enough to qualify?
Hey Everyone! Just want to let you know there won't be a new blog this week because of the holiday.
For all who celebrate I hope your Thanksgiving Day prep is going well, and for all those who don't celebrate I hope you're having a lovely week!
When working as an interim leader for any given nonprofit, my policy has always been to send a letter the same day as a gift is received. Gifts over $500 get a handwritten note in the margin. Large gifts get a phone call. Please don't say, "our nonprofit doesn't have the time".
#Nonprofits, want to know how to make the most out of your #grant search time?
This week my blog focuses on 3 Ways to Optimize Your Grant Search so you can get the best results in the shortest amount of time!

When evaluating a potential #grant funding opportunity always look at the geographic focus first. Nothing hurts more than realizing a grant is the *perfect* fit for your organization . . . if you were located in a different city. 😂
Inspiration for all #grantwriters! Even on days when the words don't come easily, getting something down as a rough draft will help you figure out what to write (and bring you closer to writing a polished draft).
Every single day writing feels different. Some days you roll. Some you wait for the words to come. But each day you sit down to write, and write, you are one step closer to finishing your novel. #amwriting ...Keep Writing. -Wrtr
When searching for new #grant opportunities start really specific and slowly widen results as needed so you always see the most relevant options first.
It'll save time (and mental stamina) for when you need to comb through pages of less relevant results later on! 😃
On the fence about creating your own mini-donor database when you already have a subscription to a #grants database?
In today's blog I explain why it'll improve your #nonprofits grant writing efforts--and what info to include in the one you create.

Sometimes the foundations that are most aligned with your #nonprofits goals don't have a public presence.
No website, emails, or phone number to contact.
Once you learn about them, set yearly reminders of funding deadlines so you don't miss out on a #grant opportunity.
Do you keep a record of all the funders you've received grant funding from in one, easily accessible document?
It's something I like to recommend to clients - it's a great way to create your own mini-grants database and keep track of funders with a low public profile! #grants
When you donate to a nonprofit, don't you want proof your donation will make a difference in people's lives? Funders feel the same way!
That's why this week's blog explains the importance of measuring your program's success and ways you can do that.

If your #nonprofit needs to create graphic designs for social media posts, #grants, promotional flyers, or more you should check out @canva! It's a free resource (which makes it super budget friendly), offers templates you can customize, and is really user friendly.
Is it a trick? Nope! In this week's blog I'm sharing program details that will bring your #nonprofit funded #grant treats!
Read it here: https://t.co/7ubfyrYUYk
Examples of details to add in your #grant narrative include:
Community need for the program
Where you got your data from
Days/hours of operation
Staff titles & roles
Supplies asked for in budget
What a day in the program looks like
Partner/Collaborator names
How many program details should be included in your #grant narrative? Enough that reviewers can imagine your narrative played out like a commercial. Short enough to keep attention, but detailed enough that they're not left wondering how it's possible. #grantwriting
When writing #grants do you focus on just getting things "mostly right"? In this week's blog I explain why for #grantreviewers, the devil's in the details.
