Reading this post got me thinking: a product's value is based on the consumer? It should be based on the benefits it provides to the species. A cup of water in the desert can prevent dehydration and death from the heat that a cup of water next to a river doesn't provide. There's no benefit at the river but in the desert, due to scarcity, it holds great value.

What I'm seeing is that consumer-based economy requires or assumes that the consumer is intelligent, non-biased and uninfluenced as if in a vacuum. The moment you introduce manipulation, bias, retardation, coercion and more into the equation, we get a different kind of hell hole embodied by modern America. A unique slave state where the people genuinely think they're free and are only just now starting to wake up and only realized they gave up their mouth the moment they wanted to scream.

Objective value is necessary as a foundation for economy just as it necessary as the backing of a currency. What is corrupting America is the discovery that it's not about selling a better product it's about convincing people to buy your product, and those are not the same thing. An objectively better product that holds objectively greater value than another can be destroyed and abandoned because of lies, manipulations, coercions, propaganda and other "sales tactics" and that's not right.

This is a clever and slight twisting of truth, twist it just enough to misguide and dispower without getting caught. Like saying pain makes you stronger when in reality it's the healing period that comes after that makes you stronger.
