The best thing about obscure media is how laid back the community is. If you talk about Frieren or Dragon Ball you're measured again 10,000 other people. If I talk about some VHS I pulled out of a dumpster I can go "yeah, this was pretty good" & people go "Yeah that's fair".

@edu_arana The OSSC Pro is another device that has an HDMI input and could help picky monitors cope with odd HDMI resolutions.

@UmiThePenguin That looks like an IRE setting issue. Japan is 0 IRE while the rest of the world is 7.5 IRE. If a Japanese production isn't properly adjusted to 7.5 IRE, it will crush the blacks and appear darker. Amazing that this slipped through!

@DextersTechLab So many misc. devices have those terrible timekeepers: Philips CD-I units, Sony 2000-series Betacam decks, some old Acer 286-era PCs. It blows my mind that most are unsocketed and generally difficult maintenance items too.
