@connorh_sci @3rdreviewer @minorallele Your mechanistic findings are very cool! Not at all how I expected it to work. Congrats on a very exciting paper.

Hello 3D genome people! Did you know that C. elegans has a good looking cohesin but no CTCF? The newly graduated Dr. Jun Kim @JunKim51053763 decided to look at what cohesin does for the compact, 100 Mb worm genome, fitting ~20,000 genes: https://t.co/kuAPks4pgH

Biologists of Seattle! I live here for the next three months. Let’s go for a coffee or drink or hike so you can tell me about your research. I am also available to help with fieldwork or worm picking.
(Also, I'm mostly at bluesky now.)

@yuvalsim @Y_Gilad Congratulations!

I am honored and excited to be joining the Department of Biology at NYU this fall. We will be studying the role of RNA metabolism in development and disease. Grateful to @zamore_lab and @yamashitaflylab for advice and support. Looking for postdocs.

@Saruuaref This is a marine annelid that came from rocks collected in the Gulf of Mexico — I don’t know the species. The general group of worms, syllids, lives in oceans all over but doesn’t parasitise people. Sorry to hear about your infection!

Who likes good news? We've received a notice of award for an NIEHS R21 to study how nematodes adapt to chronic radiation at Chernobyl. Excited to get to work with Sophie Tintori (pictured worm collecting in the red forest) to figure this stuff out.
