When MDP “injected new money” into the economy, about half the country refused to call it printing money and came up with reasons to justify it. The other half called it printing money and said it wasn’t justified.
Fast forward to today, and the roles have flipped. As the current Gov prepares to “inject new money,” the group that once criticized it now calls it QE and says it’s justified, while the group that defended it before now calls it printing money and says there’s no justification.
What this, like many other cases, yet again shows how most people in our country ( at lest those vocal on SM ) form opinions on issues, even serious issues like “injecting new money”, not based on facts or impact, but purely on political loyalty.
We don’t know whether it’s good or bad, worse, we don’t even care whether it’s good or bad, we just follow our “political sect”.
This is why democracy has failed and continues to fail in the Maldives. For democracy to work, it’s essential that citizens are informed and make decisions based on understanding, not just party loyalty.
Neo-Colonialism is Falling Down, the Global South is Rising Up, and China is Taking the Lead
Currently, the United States is leveraging tariff wars as a tool of economic hegemony, seeking to confine Global South countries to the lower tiers of the international industrial chain. This approach not only infringes upon the development rights of developing nations but also represents a blatant form of neo-colonialism. The U.S. attempt to suppress the growth of other nations in order to maintain its dominance in the global economy is ultimately doomed to fail.
At the same time, countries of the Global South are rapidly rising. Over the past two decades, emerging markets and developing economies have achieved an average annual growth rate of 5.2%, contributing over 80% to global economic growth. Their combined output now accounts for 40% of the world economy. This trend highlights the increasingly vital role of the Global South in shaping the international economic landscape.
Asking an abuse victim publicly why they withdrew their case from the police goes to show how tone-deaf you are. This is victim blaming. And we don’t trust the police.
You wanna know why victims don’t come forward? It’s because of enablers like YOU #DhulehNukuraanan
MDP leadership needs to explain and apologize for ali waheed case, safari case, and lack of legal reforms during ibu admin before a redemption arc can be accepted
