Although ESPN doesn’t seem to realize it, there has been player fatality during an NFL game. Chuck Hughes of the Lions in 1971. Heart-related.
THE NFL FINISHED THE GAME.
At least they’ve (barely) improved their judgement since then.
@morning_skate Never. His hitting was clean by the standards of the day. He only had 4 (!) elbowing penalties his entire career and was never suspended for a hit. He would have easily adapted to today’s rules.
Our new next door neighbor hasn’t put up blinds or curtains in her bathroom and apparently didn’t realize it’s fully visible from our living room.
Block parties are gonna be awkward for the next decade or two.
This Islanders fan is thankful tonight.
Thankful that the storm knocked out FIOS so I could only watch the first period of that monstrosity.
Still, it’s just one loss. I expect a hard-fought game on LI Wednesday night.
I was never a big NBA guy but considered myself a 76ers fan from the days of Dr. J.
Now, I find myself almost relieved when they lose, just so no one is fooled into thinking The Process was actually a good idea.
@mikecommito@brianlawton9 Overlooked fact from that draft: @DetroitRedWings draftees combined for over 10,000 PIM (mostly from Proberr, Kocur and Grimson). That’s got to be a record.
In terms of their share of goals when they're on the ice, the Tatar - Danault - Gallagher line has been the most effective in the NHL since it was put together in 2018-19. #GoHabsGo
I think the reason WNBA viewership is up is because the league stays clear of social justice messaging and doesn't speak its truth on things important to the players. It just sticks to sports. Thank you, WNBA.
Wish there was more social distancing at the Penguins game tonight. Not because of COVID but because I’m still within earshot of the idiots behind me complaining continuously about having to wear a mask.
Kamala Harris is historic but she’s not actually the first BIPOC VP. Charles Curtis, Hoover’s VP, was Native American on his mother’s side. He spoke Kaw before English and lived on the Rez as a kid. Incredible story that’s mostly forgotten for some reason.
@DickAndSauce One of my favorite tiny things in that movie is his quick, desperate look around as Clint approaches and he realizes nobody is about to break up the fight.
