@isaiahrobinlive Joel gets a bad rap- some of it is deserved. But…I listened to dozens of his sermons on xm radio 10 years ago. He definitely is not the bad guy, or false prophet people claim he is- he’s simply an encourager. That’s it. God loves you and wants to bless you. That’s the message.
@task_fortress And if alcohol was your master u do well to avoid it. But people universalize their position - if it’s bad for me it’s bad for everyone. Same I think for visiting the graves a deceased relatives.
@task_fortress For many evangelical Christians in America alcohol consumption is forbidden. But that is not in Scripture or doctrine. It is a position based on a previous lifestyle of alcohol abuse. The only master is Christ.
@task_fortress Nothing in Christianity about honoring your ancestors being wrong- but- worshipping them is condemned in scripture. Perhaps some Japanese don’t fully understand the difference between honor and worship? In a Christian sense.
@task_fortress It is a problem though for new Christian converts who are Japanese. There is a fear that by accepting Jesus they are dishonoring their ancestors.
