Robert, spare us the pantomime.
Gary Lineker did not drag the government to court so he could pay less tax.
HMRC tried to reclassify his freelance work as employment under IR35 and hit him with a £4.9 million bill he did not owe. He took them on, won the case, and proved they got it wrong. That is not tax dodging. That is making the taxman stick to the rules instead of inventing them.
Defending yourself against a false bill is completely different from choosing to support higher taxes. One is your right. The other is putting your money where your mouth is.
You, on the other hand, are busy sneering at millionaires willing to pay more while the Met Police are investigating a £37,500 donation to your own Tory leadership campaign. The Electoral Commission referred it because part of the money allegedly came from a foreign source. You say the claims are false. Fine. The investigation is still running.
So whose side are you really on? Not the ordinary voter in your constituency watching services get cut.
Not the people who actually need the system to work.
You talk tough about tax while your own campaign finances are under scrutiny, and you still found time to abandon the Tories for Reform after failing to lead them.
You lecture others on hypocrisy while the police check your receipts. That takes a special kind of nerve.
Never in the history of planet Earth has there been a bigger gap between the extent of power a man holds and the tininess of his mind (or certain other organs, allegedly.) He’s a blight on the species. #FantaFuhrer#MangoMussolini
I'm not a some overt supporter of Starmer, but if you want to see how manipulation and misinformation works on this platform, @toryboypierce's post here can be used as an exemplary example of disingenous, misleading BS.
The data he is referring to is 25 year data. When Starmer took office debt was 99.5% of GDP, today it's 94.2% of GDP. That's actually a fall of 5.3%. The UK is the world's 5th largest economy, recently upgrading from 6th. Debt is not increasing, and the UK is not a third world country - far from it.
Andrew takes 25 year data and attributes poor performance to one of the few Prime Ministers during that era who actually reduced debt to gbp.
Do we wonder why the working man on the street has been made to hate Starmer with all this utter BS circulated by these compromised grifters?
If Keir Starmer, Ed Davey or Zack Polanski or even Badenoch took a £5million bung or used the language Farage has twice..
They would be GONE. The media alone would have hounded them out of their job within a week.
There's your two tiers alright.
And it is the media.
Fortunately, Britain has a Bermuda-registered mass circulation newspaper owned by a French-domiciled billionaire, a television station owned by a Dubai hedge fund and a political party backed by a Thailand-based crypto tycoon to remind us of the importance of patriotism
I seem to have upset the @Nigel_Farage fan club - so let me be clear.
This man sows hate, lies and division.
He is a grifter and a conman.
He does not represent the vast majority of Britons.

The BBC isn’t perfect — but it’s ours. As coordinated attacks on its independence intensify, I warn that if we don’t defend it now, we may lose more than a broadcaster — we may lose a cornerstone of British democracy...

Sigh…..😞
Another day, another wildly misleading Daily Mail headline.
I mean, it certainly would be headline worthy if police had turned up and accused her of committing a crime by writing innocent FB posts.
But that's not what happened…

@JeremyTate41@Culture_Crit As I’d understood it, “organic” milk is milk from cows that feed on natural pasture or untreated feed rather than what happens to the milk itself.
I understand the gist of your post, but if it’s about what the milk-producing cows eat then the analogy perhaps doesn’t work.
If UK news shows are going to give Nigel Farage a platform to spout this absolute boll**** about Brexit & the vaccine rollout (unchallenged) I’ll happily come back every week to correct it
