🚨Nobody is talking about 5500% growth of this sector.
One of the most underreported success stories of the Modi era:
India's defence exports have exploded from just ₹686 crore in FY14 to a record ₹38,424 crore in FY26, a 5,500%+ increase.
The country that was once the world's largest arms importer is now among the Top 25 defence exporters globally.
This wasn't luck. It was the result of a decade-long strategy to transform India from a buyer of weapons into a builder and seller of weapons.
Former Karnataka Home Minister Dr. Parameshwara had stated on the floor of the Karnataka Assembly that RSS patha sanchalans were held at 518 places across the state and not a single incident disturbed law and order.
RSS has always been involved in service activities and is often among the first to help people during natural disasters and emergencies across the country.
Instead of providing facts or evidence of any illegal activities, Mr. Priyank Kharge continues to make comments against the organisation. Targeting RSS for political reasons and seeking attention within the Congress party seems to have become a habit.
Real Madrid hasn't won a major trophy in two years. It just became the highest-earning sports team in history anyway, beating the Dallas Cowboys. The man behind it isn't a coach or a player. He builds skyscrapers for a living, and he doesn't even own the club.
His name is Florentino Pérez, and he runs the biggest construction company in Spain, one of the largest anywhere. Real Madrid belongs to its fans, about 90,000 of them, who vote every few years on who runs the place. This Sunday they picked him again. It was the first time in twenty years that anyone even ran against him, and he'll be in charge until 2030.
His smartest move had nothing to do with football. When he took over in 2000, the club was buried under close to 300 million euros of debt. So he talked the city into letting developers build office towers on Real Madrid's old training ground. The land sold, four skyscrapers went up that still stand on the Madrid skyline, and the debt was gone almost overnight, with plenty left to start buying the best players alive. (Years later the EU looked into whether the city had overpaid on purpose to bail the club out. Nothing came of it.)
Then came the players fans still argue about, one global superstar nearly every summer: Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Beckham. Pérez never pretended it was only about football. When his marketing chief heard Manchester United would sell Beckham for about 35 million euros, he called Pérez yelling that it was a steal. United had priced a footballer. Madrid was buying a worldwide brand it figured was worth ten times more in shirts and sponsorship deals. Within a year of signing him, Madrid had passed United as the most profitable club on earth. Pérez wanted his club to run like Ferrari, a name so strong the money keeps coming whether you win on Saturday or not.
The new stadium is the same idea in concrete. He spent 1.3 billion euros rebuilding it over one thing that bugged him: a football ground hosts maybe 25 games a year and sits dark the other 340 days. His version barely sleeps. It hosts concerts and tours now, and last November it held an American football game. The pitch even slides underground so the place can be rented out without wrecking the grass. Running flat out, it's built to bring in close to a million euros a day.
He has still won plenty on the field, seven Champions League titles across his two spells, from Zidane's famous volley in 2002 to the trophies in 2022 and 2024. But the number that explains him best is simpler. Last year, with nothing big to show for it on the pitch, the club's value still climbed 41 percent. So this week 90,000 fans gave him four more years, and he still doesn't own a single share of the club he turned into the highest-earning team in world sport.
An IISc study on Bengaluru’s Yellow Line shows something important: commuters are walking an additional 10-15 minutes every day, experiencing lower stress levels, and reporting better physical, mental, and social well-being.
This is how great public transport transforms cities. Countries like Japan, where public transport is widely used, have long benefited from healthier and more active lifestyles.
But the study also highlights a serious concern. Metro fares for 10-20 km journeys in Bengaluru are often ₹60-₹70, making them among the highest in the country and unaffordable for many families.
The way forward is clear:
• Expand the Metro
• Reduce fares
• Improve last-mile connectivity
• Ensure safe pedestrian access
• Strengthen intermodal integration
Building Metro lines is not enough. We must make public transport affordable, accessible, and commuter-friendly. I hope this is the approach the Karnataka Government adopts.

Just look at these salaries. A scientist after 11 years gets basic pay of 1,23,000. With DA, allowances might reach 2 lakhs or thereabouts. There’s a challenge with govt salaries, but this won’t attract the best talent.
Basically, in just 12 years, India has done or exceeded what was achieved in the last 60 years. India will be able to reap the benefits of all this work only in the coming decades. And only if there's political stability. That's why the adversaries are earnestly attacking now.
It is shocking to know that the Tamil Nadu government has decided to shelve the "Smart Meters" project with immediate effect.
If it is so, then the @CMOTamilnadu Mr. Joseph Vijay @actorvijay must understand that scrapping this Smart Meter project — one of the largest and most significant reforms currently underway in India's power sector — would be a grave mistake. It risks pushing the already loss-making Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation (TANGEDCO) into even deeper financial losses. This project, designed under the Central Government's Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS), will pave the way for the state's progress in Power sector. By providing accurate metering and billing at every connection, it will greatly benefit the public while correcting various technical and commercial losses of the government and steadily increasing the revenue of the power distribution company.
The government's claim that this project requires a massive one-time investment is far from the truth. Smart Meters will create a robust infrastructure fully supported by loans and grants from Central Government agencies, along with private capital. This is a crucial initiative for the future. This state of the art advanced technology-driven project, which can eliminate administrative losses and ensure quality power supply to meet people's needs, was delayed two years ago by the then @arivalayam government for political reasons as the companies bidding for the project refused to provide the "commission" (bribe) demanded by them. Then the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam government cited high costs and shelved the entire project. If the current TVK government follows the same path, it will be a huge blunder.
Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu must understand that If this project is abandoned, Tamil Nadu will lose approximately ₹5,000 crore of central government financial concessions and grants being provided for loss-reduction measures under various schemes. Power Minister @CTR_Nirmalkumar should inquire with the concerned officials, understand the facts, and speak responsibly.
Acting impulsively with an lacklusture attitude will cause massive losses to Tamil Nadu and hinder the state's development. Both the Chief Minister and the Minister concerned must carefully examine this. The Tamil Nadu government must recognise and realise that halting or delaying the Smart Meter project — the power ministry’s biggest initiative — is improper. I urge the Tamil Nadu government should immediately take all necessary steps to implement this project swiftly.

Chief Spokesperson,
BJP, Tamil Nadu.
First, the Cabinet cleared a ₹39,437-crore garbage contract despite Finance Department objections. Now, the Govt has formed a committee to examine the very same concerns: cost inflation, a 30-year lock-in and 5% annual escalation. If a review was needed, why was approval given?

Hate Aus. & England as much as you want, but you can't deny that while BCCI is all focused on earning money, these two nations are keeping Test cricket alive.
In England, you rarely see empty stands for Test matches. Meanwhile, despite having 30x population, only few people watch Test Cricket in India.
The most underrated stat of RCB’s season? 👀
Devdutt Padikkal scored 463 runs in IPL 2026.
But here’s the crazy part…
301 of those runs came when Virat Kohli was at the other end. 🔥
That’s 65% of his entire season.
While bowlers focused on Kohli…
DDP was busy dismantling attacks.
One absorbed the pressure.
One applied the pressure.
463 runs for DDP.
301 with Kohli.
Some partnerships score runs.
This one helped take RCB to another IPL Final. ❤️🏆
RCB fever has taken over Bengaluru! 🔥🏏
At Udupi Athithya, Sahakarnagar, the entire staff turned up in #RCB jerseys, showing their support ahead of the big final. ❤️👕
From serving dosas to serving pure RCB vibes, the passion is unreal! 🙌🦁🏆
