I have two fixes for this:
1. Environmental dangers with high DC checks mid combat and monsters with crowd control, preferably str saves or int/cha saves.
2. Every monster had counterspell now, oops 🤷‍♂️

I really enjoy 5e D&D, but here are some things I don't like about it:

1. Battles typically don't seem at all dangerous.
2. Why the fuck does every single class cast spells?

Dm-tip: Want to encourage inter-party role-playing? Stay silent. Players will fill in that void where you are silent.
