A shelter in place is still in effect for people in the neighborhood at Brown University. Please stay inside and stay safe.

Police are asking anyone who might have video or ring camera or saw anything today to share it - you can call 401-272-3121.

The shooter is not in custody.

Brown is setting up a family reunification center.

My heart is broken for the two people who died tonight and for the 8 hospitalized. I’m praying for everyone impacted and who witnessed this today.

My thanks are with the Providence Police and Fire Departments and the many communities who responded with mutual aid.
