An audit in Rajasthan has reportedly uncovered an alleged ₹20 crore cattle shelter scam. According to the report, dead cows were shown as alive on paper to claim government grants, with duplicate and fake ear tags also allegedly used.
The audit also revealed that government funds were collected in the name of fodder and maintenance by registering more cattle than the actual number in many places, while payment was also obtained by using the same tag number repeatedly.

A Muslim Urdu teacher was slapped by a BJP leader in Telangana for teaching Urdu to students, despite Urdu being an officially recognized second language in the state. The incident took place in the presence of Telangana Police. Instead of taking immediate action against the alleged assailant, the police later detained the teacher.
