The second edition cover of ‘No Nation For Women’ is here. Picking up a line from the new forward published in this edition which sums up my feelings almost accurately-(today) my sense of gratitude is as deep as the wounds that I am carrying in my heart. 🙏#nonationforwomen

Read till the end:
SpiceJet cancelled my Delhi to Srinagar flight (PNR: H8FKMY) today. It was at 11:15 am, and they informed me only at 9:20 am. I was taking my 60+ old parents to Kashmir for their anniversary. They travelled all the way from Rohtak, reached the airport on time, only to be told there’s no flight today. Their entire plan for the next 5 days is ruined.
When I tried to rebook for today, fares were already higher. And the moment I clicked “pay,” the price jumped another 40%.
So, I booked for tomorrow, but it cost way more than the SpiceJet tickets I paid for. SpiceJet says they’ll refund the cancelled flight but what about the extra money I had to pay? What about hotels refusing refunds for the lost day? What about the taxi costs and the stress my old parents had to go through?
Just for my own curiosity, I tried cancelling the Indigo flight I booked for tomorrow. Guess what? They wanted more than ₹5,000 per ticket as cancellation fee, just 10 minutes after booking.
All this in the name of “base fare” and “fuel surcharge.” Base fare they’ll recover anyway by selling the seat at a higher price to someone else. And fuel surcharge? Is fuel price fluctuating every single minute?
Airlines and apps happily charge “convenience fees,” but when they ruin your plans, there’s no inconvenience fee for passengers. No cancellation fees for passengers. Just a cold “write mail to us.” You may get a voucher from their airline.
The staff at the counter have no power, yet they’re the ones who face all the anger. The real decision-makers sit on annual packages worth crores, but don’t lift a finger when it comes to fixing anything real.
FYI: At European airports, airlines are required to give a full refund and pay up to £600 to passengers when they cancel a flight. Even if it’s an Indian airline operating there, the same rule applies. These airlines pay compensation there, even for a flight delay. But what about Indian Janta?
We’re not flying for free, we pay taxes on every single ticket we buy. GST, User development fees, airport charges and even for our security.
Anyway, DGCA rules say 24 hours’ notice is required before cancelling. Why was this ignored? Staff claimed “technical fault” in the plane, but I doubt it. I want SpiceJet to share how many seats were actually booked for this flight. Was the flight only 30-40% full and cancelled for that reason? I didn’t see many passengers stranded there.
These airlines keep sinking and government keeps negotiating. Aviation minister, where are you? Ministers fight for cabinet seats, they take one, enjoy the power and go, but ordinary people keep suffering because of government’s policies. At least one minister has to set an example.
I want answers. And I want real compensation, not just vouchers or empty apologies.

A drama is being played out in the courtroom and everyone is giggling along. The Bar should’ve been up in arms given the treatment being meted out to a Habeas Corpus petition—the most urgent of all types of cases. But the Bar is broken and pliant. The Bench hence has the liberty.
A spat broke out between people supporting the rape victim of the 2017 Unnao Rape Case and ( Men's Right Activists @barkhatrehan16) supporters of the rape convict Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
This is pathetic! Indian Immunologicals Ltd knew about the counterfeit Abhayrab in Jan 2025. The authorities knew it, but we came to know about in Dec 2025 because of the Australian advisory. On top of it, the Indian Immunologicals Ltd says the Australian advisory is overcautionary and misplaced! No! It's not! Wasn't it the duty of the authorities and the Indian Immunologicals Ltd to inform people? Many veterinarians, those who work with animals, and those who were bitten by dogs/cats would have taken the counterfiet version! They should have been made aware by issuing an advisory and raising awareness about the same, so as to give them a chance to take the effective and genuine vaccine. India's poor are the most vulnerable, especially the children in the slums and rural areas. Every time there is a Rabies death, there is a knee jerk reaction from the authorities. Had Animal Birth Control measures been implemented properly over the years, we wouldn't have been in this state. Some foreigners who visited India contracted Rabies, and CDC has issued an advisory that their citizens should be cautious in their interactions with dogs and cats from our country!
This menace has to be controlled, by implementing the ABC properly on a war footage!

I met @Wangchuk66 today on the 60th day of his detention. 60 days of injustice! And for what? his fault was that he tried to remind the Government through peaceful anshans and padyatras to fulfill its promise of protection and legislature that they made in their election manifesto to the people of Ladakh. They won the elections because of this but conveniently forgot to implement it once they came to power!
Rest everything - NSA, FCRA, CBI etc etc is but a smokescreen!! And the whole nation and the world knows that!

'English media anchors have a massive social media influence but face sufficient criticism for their theatrics and loudness./The similarly shrill Hindi anchors somehow escape scrutiny as long as they carry a copy of the constitution and cite Nehru.'
Important piece by @ashubh
Where are Hindi bylines?
Why eminent Hindi names are all TV/YouTube anchors; they merely lift an English report and read it out?
Why don't they report on foreign policy, business deals, mining allocations, economy etc?
