The last place candidate in the LA mayoral race is a professional Roblox YouTuber who opened his campaign by making sure everyone knows he opposes Roblox’s age verification requirements
@thogge@avidseries I disagree. I think that a guy who worships a dead gorilla from the Cincinnati Zoo is not worshipping the One True God, even if he calls that gorilla Jesus Christ and believes it's the divine Son of God who died and rose for humanity's sins- he worships a completely different god
@thogge@avidseries What if the hypothetical prophet claimed to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, claimed that the Jesus he worshipped was the Son of God, fully divine, and died and rose again for our sins, but he also believed that Jesus was a gorilla who was shot in 2016? Is he a Christian?
@thogge@avidseries You're contradicting yourself. The religion of a self-proclaimed prophet who proclaims to be a follower of Jesus while contradicting Jesus' teachings is either (A) Christianity, or (B) not Christianity.
If (B), the M-W definition is false. If (A), your quoted post is false.
@thogge@avidseries So if some self-proclaimed prophet comes along and introduces new teachings that contradict Jesus' teachings, that prophet's religion is distinct from Christianity, correct?
@FluidEyes@sleepy_devo Let's keep things civil, please. No need for crassness.
A sperm cell, left unfertilized, stays a sperm. By contrast, a fetus is what a human looks like at the fetal stage. We don't become more human as we grow older; an infant is not less human than a toddler, child, or teenager
