Access to clean and safe water is fundamental for all ๐ง- it touches every part of life, from what we drink to how we grow food, support health services, and keep livestock healthy ๐, ultimately helping build lasting peace in communities โจ.
In Karamoja ๐บ๐ฌ, @UNDP and @KoicaUganda, through the BRICK Project, have expanded access to safe, reliable water by installing solar-powered water supply systems โ๏ธ๐ง- supporting both people and animals.
Three piped water supply systems and six production wells have now been handed over to communities in Kaabong, Kotido, and Moroto ๐๐ฆ.

In the remote border region of Timu Sub County in Kaabong District, lies Ugandaโs first Community Police Post, a new structure that stands as more than just a building. It has become part of the development journey of the Ik Peoples of Uganda - representing hope, livelihood security, and a community determined to transform itself.
Community security is a strategy that implements @UNDPโs people centred approach by engaging a wide range of state and civil society actors to identify the root causes of conflict and violence and to develop coordinated responses.
UNDPโs people centred approach to community security supports the vision of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 16: promoting peaceful and inclusive societies, providing access to justice for all, and building effective, accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

Together with @MOFAkr_eng & @KoicaUganda we have commissioned the first-ever Police Post in Timu Subcounty, Kaabong District.
Constructed together with communities from Timu, under the BRICK project, the station will strengthen community security, reduce crime and curb GBV.๐บ๐ฌ
