@twobitidiot I think it’s weird that some people apply rational actor status to foreign leaders, specifically autocrats, by default. It mostly feels like half-baked contrarian analysis.
@BaruchLawrence Putin may find some way to find a silver lining in the world hurting like Russia is, but it doesn’t make sense (to me) that global economic collapse would be his hidden goal behind the invasion.
@RampCapitalLLC There has to be some concern for waste, but nuclear should be a part of power generation. The future will be mixed with no one source replacing coal and oil. Wind, solar, nuclear, tidal, natgas, etc
@Crypto___Oracle@tagdemnbagdem So if they either expect increased hospitalizations or are currently fighting a high census they will shut down surgeries that can wait to save space
@Crypto___Oracle@tagdemnbagdem Not in any cases I know of. Hospitals shut down elective procedures because when you have surgery they have to have a bed to put in you afterwards if you’re being admitted post op. Even if it’s out patient they need a bed available until it’s clear there were no complications
