@jpakkane thanks for meson manual campaign. I wonder about the license issue: if there would be ways to make it public, would you go for it, or is it also a financial model for you? Somehow it feels it's being dismissed a little easily.
@jpakkane Sorry to hear it didn't work out. I read the article and wasn't convinced. I think the campaign also didn't take because you weren't crystal clear about non-free-license motive in the explanatory blogpost: you mentioned the law, but didn't say you also wanted to make money.
@jpakkane @jpakkane Thanks for the writeup, it's the post urging me to respond. As non-Finnish, I wondered why you didn't explore other possibilities (like I) mentioned. It left me wondering if you did even try or want to find a way. If more people feel the same, crowdfunding may suffer.
@jpakkane or: making the result only available to people who contributed for e.g. a month. After a month, it is released under a free license. People who contributed buy their early access.
Looking forward to your reply, and to bring clarity on this.
@jpakkane IANAL, e.g.: making result only available to people who contributed, under a free license. They can then shere it (prev discussed for GPL software in the past). Only those who contributed get return, not general public. What they do, is outside actions of the writer.
So much for #https#security when a customer support inquiry about insecure content on a secure login page is met with "I can ensure you that your account is secure." Red flag for @ActiveCampaign security.
