Saturday I led a private walking tour of Governors Island (and you can book one too, DM me!) and the subject of Confederates in NYC during the #CivilWar came up. Here's a #TB post I wrote about it https://t.co/EzD64a49EL

This was 3 years ago today, feels much longer. One of the biggest honors I’ve ever had in New York was to speak at the rededication ceremonies of a #WWI monument at a Bronx NYC Parks event. Photos @JoeConzo@NYCParks@ww1nyc

I am honored that my film with Marco Williams (@hiptruth) “Tulsa Burning: The 1921 Race Massacre” has been nominated for 3 Emmy Awards! Thank you to @HISTORY for their incredible support of this film.

#OTD in 1914, the ships of the U.S. Navy officially became dry under General Order No. 99. Most ships spent the previous night having parties and mock funerals. British, French, German, and Dutch sailors rushed to any nearby American ship to help consume the last of the booze.
