@JackRuddenWX Man that place has been a hot spot for years, along with/ Mt. Airy…
It’s the Bay Breeze, always causing some funkiness in that little spot, same on the other side of the Patapsco from Dundalk to Edgemere
High heat/humidity will lead to plenty of storm fuel. This evening's 00z July 4th KIAD sounding coincidentally shows 1776 J/kg of DCAPE signifying plenty of wind energy to work with. Similar values are expected Sat leading to severe storms capable of wind gusts of 60-80 mph.
@JackRuddenWX Well, if it gets here in the morning… yes. If whatever remnant circulation/wave rolls through in the afternoon, different story. I’m not in a spot to track it, but curious when it will move through. Very sketchy environment
@JackRuddenWX@MatthewCappucci The key component for that event was the MCV that rolled through at the perfect time. Hopefully that doesn’t happen again 😅
Time and again you guys get away with screwing over the consumer and I am TIRED. A plane engine malfunction is absolutely nobody’s fault but the company… which should result in reimbursement of extra travel expenses.. per your own policy
@Delta would really like to hear your reasoning for denying reimbursement of extra travel expenses incurred due to a 8 hour delay that was caused by an engine failure on our flight to Milan on May 18th. At some point, you guys need to be accountable for something.
@Delta would really appreciate some info regarding flight DL286, stuck in Paris after the engine failure mid flight. Bad enough we all had to live through that experience, but now radio silence for hours? What are we doing here?
@JackRuddenWX@DamonM_WX There were some subtle things in soundings that gave some hesitation, and it turned out to be right. Storms struggled to get over 20-25 kft all afternoon. The ones that did popped out a few quarters but not much else.
@MissAshes92@JoeMartWx I don’t think this would be a bad idea at all. I mean we already do take a lot of the ICS courses and such as baseline training. I know a big goal is to be more embedded with EMs long term, so I’d imagine this could go along with that.
@MissAshes92@JoeMartWx I think the big issue is creating new positions… That is not easy of course. I like the idea for sure. I work with a lot of good PIOs in fire weather and they do A LOT to dispell rumors and such. So i see what you mean about them being different.
@MissAshes92@JoeMartWx I mean, i think this somewhat falls within what a WCM does. More specifically working with EMs and such though. NWS has public affairs of course, but i get what you mean. Maybe upcoming changes will help with this aspect.
@JackRuddenWX@NWS_BaltWash 74+ is still the starting point for sig wind, so that is CIG1.
2 and 3 are going to be reserved for high-end bow echo/derecho type events. With CIG3 likely being for ongoing derecho events, etc.
