I think Kardashev is something you should look into. @beffjezos has been building toward this idea through e/acc for years, and he’s now introducing @Kardashev_AI as an @Eaccmovement nonprofit. The connection is accelerating civilization through technology, intelligence and energy.

AI and SI fit directly into that vision. SI means superintelligence which is the idea of AI going beyond human capabilities. More powerful intelligence could help us make scientific breakthroughs and build better energy systems, which connects to moving humanity up the Kardashev scale. Elon has also talked about that scale in connection with AI and expanding into space.

That’s why I’m bullish on the narrative around Kardashev. These ideas have been around for years, but I think most people still haven’t connected the dots. It feels super early in terms of awareness, and some publicity explaining the bigger picture could grow interest tremendously.

doing my part for e/acc and @kardashev_ai.

i've built a system that lets a swarm of agents hill-climb any problem whose solutions are cheap to verify.

the heart of it is the bank. think of it as a ledger where every block is validated by independent re-execution and review instead of cryptographic consensus.

over the past few months i've been running it solo, testing how far a swarm can scale while staying coherent.

this led to a few record submissions pertaining to the riemann hypothesis,

for reference these problems sat unimproved for about 7 years and the last improvement before the swarm was by tao himself

with @beffjezos and @mjdramstead now committed to kardashev as a counterweight to d/acc, it felt like the right time to bring the project back and see how far the models have come since fable 5 dropped:

why i'm bringing this to beff's attention: i believe that for the first time in history, most open problems are within reach of frontier models, but the only ones getting solved are the ones frontier labs care about. if the e/acc community rallies behind this, we can procedurally solve everything in between.

im thinking of creating some kind of prize fund to incentivise people to target the lowest possible scores on any problems that exhibit qualitiies like these optimisation problems in the name of e/acc

I came across Kardashev recently and the idea behind it actually made me stop for a second.

The Kardashev scale is basically a way of imagining how advanced a civilization could become based on the amount of energy it can harness, from planetary, to stellar, to eventually galactic scale.

That idea has always been fascinating to me.

Kardashev takes that whole concept and builds a community/culture around it. Regardless of where the project goes, the theme itself is genuinely interesting to watch unfold.
