This is such a lazy line of thinking, especially from a so-called "learned colleague"; a label you people never stop shoving down our throats. Instead of clinging to the status quo, why not argue for the government to reform the second-year GNS entrepreneurship course? /1

We claim that Nigeria educational system does not prepare you for anything about leadership and entrepreneurship. Now something is being done to address that and still you people have problem with it. What exactly pleases you people about this country? Na everything no good to Una?
I am happy to report that the Federal Executive Council today approved the comprehensive reform of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), the first holistic review of the Scheme in its 53-year history.
For over five decades, the NYSC has remained a powerful symbol of national unity and service. Today, we have taken a bold step to preserve that legacy while preparing it for the future. We are transforming the Scheme into a platform that not only unites Nigeria but also equips our young people with the skills, experience and opportunities they need to thrive in a fast-changing world.
The approved reforms will reposition the NYSC as a skills-driven, productivity-focused and youth-empowering institution that aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's vision of building a $1 trillion economy.
Some of the landmark reforms include:
1. A technology-driven call-up process.
2. Risk-sensitive deployment to better protect corps members.
3. A redesigned six-week orientation programme with stronger focus on leadership, entrepreneurship, digital skills and specialised career streams.
4. Skills-based primary assignments aligned with academic background and career pathways.
5. Modern governance with civilian operational leadership while the military continues to provide security support.
6. Improved camp standards through a national grading and certification system.
7. A new graduation ceremony to replace Passing Out Parade, and redesigned NYSC uniform that reflect professionalism and national pride.
This reform journey began in 2025 through a broad-based, multi-stakeholder review involving the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, the Federal Ministry of Education and the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Policy and Coordination.
Today, that hard work has received the endorsement of the Federal Executive Council.
Council also directed the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Federal Ministry of Youth Development to commence the amendment of the NYSC Act and its regulations to give legal effect to these reforms and enable their implementation.
This is more than a reform of an institution. It is an investment in Nigeria's greatest asset, our young people. The future of the NYSC begins now, and it is brighter, more relevant and more impactful than ever.

Breaking News: Gunmen Attack School in Borno, Abduct Students
โSuspected Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents have attacked a government school in Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, abducting several students who were sitting for their NECO examinations.
One of the core reasons Islam on Nigerian university campuses remains united is that it is under the umbrella of MSSN. Once we tear apart that umbrella, everything will shatter. You're an idiot. I can see from your comments that you're unwilling to learn.
Professor Mansir Isah Yelwa has put pen to paper for resignation as the chief Imam of ATBU central mosque simply because the university awarded a plot of land to Tijjaniyya students to build a mosque within the university.
I never knew these people harbor a hatred of this magnitude against Tijjaniya. This is the most pitiable and embarrassing reason i have ever seen from a supposed professional Islamic Sheikh. Islam isnโt a religion of rivalry, itโs a religion that reserves every right for individuals to practice it in accordance to Sunnah. This spells bad of him.

The scary thing is that Tinubu is no longer banking on the poor people's votes. Rather, it's the elites benefiting from him competing to deliver and rig votes for him.
"When you get home, tell your boyfriends, your children, and your mothers that the governor has promised Asiwaju 2.5 million votes."
