This is the wrong approach and doesn't even make sense. Canada should not be following the BRICS playbook. It won't work for them. As you said Canada should be strengthening their ties with their trade partners which the greatest is the US. The US is about to leap frog most countries in payments and tokenization and Canada should be bringing financial borders down with them not building them up. Stablecoins are the right answer for now but CADD approach at it is wrong. Canada needs to bring trade closer together with the US not farther apart or they will be left in the dust when everything settles while the US will have something that works. BRICS will ultimately fail too. The only way is decentralized blockchains and having reserves of the native assets and liquidity in stablecoins. Building financial products that merge financial borders between the US and CAD is the way to go not the opposite.

Even if ETH doubled in price it wouldn't be enough to handle the large payment infrastructure of the US financial system. For the time being genius compliant stablecoins are the only way to scale payments on chain. In a post fiat dollar collapse is where I believe CDPs will have the advantage but we are heading into a Genius compliant world and payment infrastructure will need scalability.
