@QiaoLu59290200 I agree. Nothing beats the environment of a live show of a band. Like you said the new technologies make music in a non live sense seem perfect, so when you experience the flawed live band, it might ruin it for you. #S22POPMUS
@BesmahTepagende I agree. There's nothing wrong with listening to the artist from a streaming service, but nothing beats the feeling of seeing them perform in person. People will always want to experience it if possible. #S22POPMUS
I believe autotune and other technologies have helped music as a whole. However there is some truth in what Wald is saying. Someone who listens exclusively to covers and streaming of the song could be let down by the live performance of a band. #S22POPMUS
@Kayleigh8894 I agree, the mistakes of the past should never be forgotten because if they were how are we to learn from them? The ability to better ourselves from looking at our past is very important rather than burying it. #S22POPMUS
@kona_miura I agree, I think covers that are created in respect of the original artist is completely okay and sometimes even necessary. However as you mention, if the cover don't respect the original it is considered schlock. #S22POPMUS
Schlock music does have roots in cultural theft, but it can not be dismissed in the grand scheme of musical history. If we do not know the mistakes from the past, we cannot move forward and learn to do better. It shouldn't be forgotten, but it shouldn't be repeated. #S22POPMUS
@MadilynM5 I agree, the way he utilizes his voice breaks makes his songs filled with emotion. In doing this it adds so much to the song as you said, showing his mastery of music during his time. #S22POPMUS
@BlakeZoeFrance1 I agree, when listening to Rays music I always feel encapsulated by his singing. His voice always drags me in and makes me listen to every word he is saying. #S22POPMUS
I believe the use of a breaking voice helped Ray make his songs seem unique, allowing them to be recognized as his songs as soon as people hear them. Also in order to show how much he cares about what he is singing about. #S22POPMUS
@HannahS99330463 I agree, Spotify has completely changed my musical interests over the years. I like many others have discovered new artists and songs I never would have known existed if it wasn't for the platform. #S22POPMUS
@BesmahTepagende I agree, with the help of streaming music more people have been able to find music they enjoy even more. The accessibility of music and its relative cheapness is another plus to the new world of music streaming. #S22POPMUS
Spotify is a new way for experiencing music. It can be accessed from any smartphone, allowing you to have music wherever you go. Along with this you can interact with others through public playlists. This allows you to expand your musical palette in a whole new way. #S22POPMUS
@Kayleigh8894 I agree, unlike what they believed in the past music do not always need a deeper meaning to be consumed and enjoyed. Like you mentioned, songs used for background noise while doing mundane tasks become popular due to the role they possess in our lives. #S22POPMUS
@svernb I agree. Even if the music is being simplified more nowadays, that doesn't mean that the culture is as well. People can enjoy this new music more lounging back and relaxing rather than trying to piece together a deep message. #S22POPMUS
I can't agree. Even if popular music is dumbing down, that does not dumb down the people or culture in the process. There are just simpler ways one can express themselves while still getting their point across. A deep thought provoking message doesn't equal enjoyment. #S22POPMUS
