After seeing @_Jamisky get his @KaitoAI Genesis NFTđĽđŤĄ, I had to do my own research â and just one word to describe this piece "Simply lovely"
As someone who's been around since the NFT bull and bear markets, I can confidently say this might just be what brings back the soul of NFTs â where people bought NFTs not just for the âartâ or hype, but for realistic personal utility.
𧊠Kaito Genesis NFTs are NFTs with a purpose â dynamic arts that adapt to your needs as a creator, a builder, or a believer in Web3.
So Why am I so Bullish on Kaito?
1. Yaps are Mindshare boost.
2. Staked sKAITO means you get token rewards
3. Genesis NFTs nor serves as a Multiplier boost
⣠Kaito â a creatorâs dream and projectâs growth engine.
I donât own a Genesis NFT yet, but at the slightest chance, Iâm grabbing one. Itâs not just an NFT â itâs a statement.
Creators are taking over and @KaitoAI is leading this movement.
gKaito!
My crypto seed phrase got compromised last night!
Hereâs how it happened and what everyone can learn from it.
1/ So I got home tired after work, was chatting with a friend via phone call, multitasking as I was trying to farm airdrops before going gym. I usually use @brave because of some of its security feature but needed to join a Telegram for an airdrop. Brave wasnât playing nice, so I switched to Chrome.
2/ On Chrome, I needed to install MetaMask but instead of going to the official site (like a smart person would), I searched âmetamask downloadâ on Google(Mistake 1). Top result was a sponsored link. Looked super legit, "chromewebstore[.]google[.]com".
3/ But hereâs where it went left, altoughh the link looked like: chromewebstore[.]google[.]comâŚbut it redirected to:
http://chraoenbiiotiie-gcocgle[.]com/en/nkbihfdeogafaqehlednkodbezgpgknn/?gclid=1
(Mistake 2, didn't pay attention to the final URL - lots of red flags)
4/ Apparently, @Google allows advertisers to display any URL even if the actual destination is different. The ad routes through Google Ads (hxxps://www.googleadservices[.]com/pagead/aclk?...) for tracking, then redirects to hxxp://chraoenbiiotiie-gcocgle[.]com/en/nkbihfdeogafaqehlednkodbezgpgknn/?gclid=1. Classic URL obfuscation + cheap typosquatting. Not entirely sure, maybe someone here can help confirm.
5/The final URL, a clean fake. Professional UX. No red flags, I downloaded the extension. It asked for my seed phrases after confirming I agree to Metamask policy. I later found out after playing around with the extension that no matter what option I clicked â âCreate New Walletâ or âImport Existing Walletâ â it always led to the same thing: a prompt to enter your seed phrase.
6/ Hereâs the wild part:
I typed it in 4 times, thinking I made a typo. Each time it said, âIncorrect.â Smart move by the attacker. Maybe design flaw, to grab multiple wallets or confuse the victim. Either way. I was cooked.
Lowkey glad Iâm a brokeâprobably saved me from a mental breakdown, Although the wallet holds some few bucks and my:
â˘2021/2022/2023 @opensea airdrop hope
â˘Airdrop hopes from @plaza_finance , @AIWayfinder , @lanca_io , @union_build , @monad_xyz , etc. Gone or soon-to-be gone.
7/ Honestly one of the most well crafted phishing attacks Iâve seen, clean execution, no typos, great UX.
Question: Does @Google even vet these URLs? They make billions yet fake extension links still get through. It's ridiculous tbh!
8/ What Iâve done since:
â˘Reported the URL.
â˘Rotated other credentials.
â˘Shared this story so you donât get got like me.
9/ To contribute to global IT security, Cyber hygiene 101 (some of which I ignored):
â˘Never trust Google Ads for wallet/downloads
â˘Always go to the official site
â˘Get a hardware wallet if you can
â˘HTTPS although encrypts data, doesn't necessarily equates to safe
â˘Double-check URLs like your funds depend on itâbecause they do.
Yeah, they got me, and clean too! Stay safe out there. I learned the hard way so you donât have to lol.
10/ I have attached a video to show interaction with with the extension.
