So look all I'm saying is, if you play the French with Black against 1.e4, and the Nimzo against 1.d4, and you want to avoid the Trompowsky, you can start with 1...e6 against 1.d4, since you're OK with transposing to the French, but if 2.c4 then you have 2...Nf6, with a Nimzo
