@Stevo286@InYourEarsMusic Hey thanks Steve old chap. Hope you're doing good. Only dropping back in here on occasion...trying to do other stuff.
Keep fighting the good fight man...I do miss the nice-nuts-Twitter rather than the cesspit-nuts-Twitter!
Hope everyone is ok. If you're not ok, hope it passes quickly. Might play a bit of guitar, pretending I'm flying a plane, eating lunch and listening to the drummer's recordings of his silly periscope mic.
@pmaxdrum@Wightout66 Ooh but I like a bit of brutalism AND a good doric column and old victorian libraries. I just don't want any of it to be shit. Brutalism seemed to be an excuse for shit architecture...but some is great.
Over Christmas to now I've got the bones of 8 tracks. Snatches of melody, chord progressions, feelings, time signatures, tempo, themes...
I have a checklist at this stage. I have a checklist at every stage actually!
Hyperfocused nerdy writing process.
@pmaxdrum Oooh I am totally biased because my drummer sent some periscope mic tracks the other day - but totally overdriving an analog (or VST equiv) to get that drum 'crush' mic effect might be interesting. Or it might be too much.
Well on with writing more material. Plan remains to write 3 EPs and 3 albums in this project...so exactly 1/3rd of the way in.
EP2/album2 will be more work, particularly in writing & arranging. So much needs to be thought about.
@JoeAdhemar @mawmusicuk Ah that rings a bell (ahem, end) that a few years ago FB & Tw both went from a timeline to a network graph algo - it was controversial in both places.
@mawmusicuk @JoeAdhemar Agreed, seeing similar here. Wonder if it's a defect or design feature - prioritising some tweets/users and others just drop off as a result.
@pmaxdrum That is an entertaining challenge definitely. There's a ton you can do now in the mix but always felt not doing too much was right - try to build on the qualities of the original rather than replace them.
