I fucking love America because it's a place that encourages you to fail. Blow up your life. Fall without a safety net. Start 7 businesses and go bankrupt. Join a cult. Get divorced 6 times. Make a ton of money in a ridiculous scheme and then blow it all on bad investments. Build a hydroponic shrimp tank business in your basement. Enroll your kids in a school where they practice telepathy. Have a secret family. Shoot your foot off with a gun. Buy drugs that make you go insane. Drive your RV off a cliff. Crash your own private plane off the coast during a storm. In America, you can fail so fast, and so hard, and so beautifully—every one of us has the opportunity to blow our wings off flying toward a crazy dream.
@RebeccaCNReid also isn't this "herd everyone into a classroom and just stick a video on" approach to education explicitly critiqued in the show, episode 2
As everyone knows, the End of History occurred with the collapse of the Berlin Wall in 1989. There was then a state of No History for 12 years, until the collapse of the twin towers on 9/11, which initiated History’s sequel, History 2.
@SomaKazima You know this lady has to be an American with zero cultural awareness, bc she's literally trying it in the middle of Soho Square as this man heads towards the cottage toilets 😭 Wrong audience babes! Wrong sitch! Nobody wants to be solicited there...or if they do it's not by you!
@MattDownham@gavinantonyrice And yet none of them seem happy either - they're all over my (East London) NextDoor, bitching variously about parking restrictions/traffic restrictions/immigration/Labour being the root of all evil/delivery drivers all putting their parcel in the wrong place. Insane!
twitter is undeniably getting worse every day and yet whenever someone announces they’re leaving i simply see that they are not a true sicko. staying is like being in the string quartet on the titanic but for some reason we’re playing hoobastank.
