As happens in one’s life, I’ve been taking stock of my last 40 years. It’s been a wild ride. I’ve gone from consulting for the NSA to watching the early stages of Bitcoin. Then, I met Arthur, Jed, and Chris and worked on coding the XRP Ledger. Now, I’ve spent more than 13 years at Ripple.

I can’t begin to explain the depth of my gratitude to this company, the people who work here, and the community that surrounds XRPL. It’s been one of the greatest honors and experiences of my life, second only to my amazing family.

The time has come for me to step back from my day-to-day duties as Ripple CTO at the end of this year. I’m really looking forward to spending more time with the kids and grandkids and going back to the hobbies I set aside. But be warned, I’m not going away from the XRP community. You haven’t seen the last of me (now, or ever).

The last few months I’ve been tinkering on the side – spinning up my own XRPL node and publishing its output data, researching other use cases for XRP (besides what Ripple is focused on), and more. I truly enjoy this part — getting my hands dirty, talking to builders, coding for the pure love of it — and I’m really excited to get back to that. More to come on this very soon, I’m sure.

But back to gratitude — to Brad and Monica — leaders who have been here nearly as long as I have, and are the very soul of Ripple itself. To Chris, who took a huge leap of faith and never wavered. To Arthur, who had the big ideas every time we needed them. To the RippleX team, ledger developers, community members, builders, and everyone else — it’s been an honor being in the trenches with you all. Thank you for everything you have done for the XRPL. I have total confidence in the next generation of leaders and builders – including Dennis Jarosch (Ripple’s SVP of Engineering) – and far too many others to name in the XRP community who will carry the torch.

I’ll still be in and out of the Ripple office as CTO Emeritus, and as my last task at Ripple, Chris asked me to join Ripple's Board of Directors to continue supporting the company’s mission and long-term vision...and I accept!

I look forward to seeing the rest of you at XRP community events around the world.

👉No fue un tratado tradicional. Fue una conferencia en 1944 con 44 países para reconstruir el sistema económico tras la Segunda Guerra Mundial.
▪️El objetivo era evitar otra Gran Depresión y establecer reglas claras para el comercio y las finanzas.
▪️Se creó el FMI y el Banco Mundial
▪️Se estableció que el dólar sería la moneda global, respaldado por oro
▪️La FED se volvió el banco central del mundo
▪️Todas las monedas quedaron ancladas al dólar
⛔️En 1971, Nixon rompió el patrón oro. El dólar quedó “flotante”, sin respaldo. Desde entonces: deuda infinita, inflación estructural y desorden global.

👉Y hoy, entre GUERRAS por todos lados, lo que parece ser una especie de Tercera Guerra Mundial
⛔️Tanto Powell como Bessent están diciendo que ese sistema ya no da para más.

La cantidad de consultas solicitando asesoramiento en casos de sustracción parental o impedimento de contacto con los niños, nos llevó a crear la Consultoría Externa de NISDE. Evidentemente los profesionales del derecho que llevan la asesoría especializada cobran por su trabajo.
Desde que ya no es gratuito se acabaron las consultas.
La desesperación ya no es tanta cuando hay que pagar a los especialistas.

A lot of new people looking at Stellar so I thought I'd write down some quick thoughts about why Stellar is worth your time.
IMHO Stellar is the most underrated and least understood crypto project. A lot of recent attention but people are still sleeping on this network.

Stellar already does way more transactions per day than all but two networks. 10x the number of transactions per day than Ethereum. Many real people are already using it for actual real-world transactions.

So many things are just simpler and well thought out. Native stablecoin and token issuing. Builtin DEX. On chain governance. Smart contract system that is safer (no footguns like re-entrancy), more performant (built from the ground up for concurrency), more sustainable (state archival). Better foundation for actually good UX (passkey support, native multi-sig), etc

It has been one of the most performant chains for years. Its fees have always been essentially 0 because the protocol is efficient and fast.

This is more qualitative, but the engineering is world class. And not so sexy but look at the developer docs. Absolutely the best in the industry. Makes spinning up on stellar as a developer a delight.

I believe the best and most impactful use of crypto is as digital money. Which means it must be a good and useful means of payment. This is what Stellar has been focused on and what it is built for. And it is a very very good system for this. People and businesses around the world are realizing this and I think Stellar has a very real chance of becoming a big part of the world's financial infrastructure.

But the dogs are cuter on some other coins, it's true.
