The reality is that many of these same artists have benefited from the system. They receive favors opportunities, and rewards, but rarely speak out against the very government that has caused so many Zimbabweans to suffer and leave their homeland in search of better lives elsewher
What confuses me is that some of these artists have never stood with ordinary people when we raised concerns about the situation in Zimbabwe. They remained silent when their voices could have made a difference. Yet now, all of a sudden, they want to present themselves as patriots
South Africans say jobs are disappearing. Zimbabweans say people move because opportunities disappear. Maybe the real question isn’t who crossed the border — it’s why Southern Africa still makes ordinary people compete for survival while leaders talk growth every year.
How convenient is all this spectacle for owners of the means of production! After producing the worst inequality, poverty & economic crisis on the face of the earth… they have finally managed to turn the working class against itself: tragically, with the full endorsement of pseudo revolutionaries who have long masqueraded in our ranks as progressive forces! Sela!
