A preliminary damage survey for an EF0 tornado that moved across portions of Cudjoe Key and Big Torch Key this past Sunday was released yesterday.

A confirmed tornado moved across Cudjoe Key through the Torch Keys today. Ryan Burke captured this video as it moved through Cudjoe Bay, and David Dale McCue observed damage on Cudjoe. A team from @NWSKeyWest went to survey the damage, and a storm report will be available soon.

Neat observation from our midnight shift last night: large swath of higher SSE winds over the #GulfofMexico #LoopCurrent yesterday. Why?👇

Warmer SSTs➡️Warmer atmospheric boundary layer➡️Steeper temperature lapse rates➡️Greater downward air movement➡️higher surface winds
