@AutismCapital@nytimes It’s only a disgrace when you disagree with politics. It’s an extremely myopic view. The post noted his widely seen success juxtaposed to recent comments he made. I read his recent books. They were….not neutral
it's really time for journalists to start asking Mike Johnson meta questions during these pressers
"Speaker Johnson, on 5 different occasions last week you said 'I haven't seen it' when asked about major news events with serious implications for public policy. Do you ever read the news, and do you agree it's problematic for the Speaker of the House to be so woefully uninformed?"
WOW!!! DOZY DON WAS FAST ASLEEP WHILE JD “JUST DANCE” VANCE HELD HIS WEAK LITTLE PRESS CONFERENCE. TOTAL SOAP OPERA … VERY BAD ACTING, AWFUL DANCING (WAY TOO MUCH “EYELINER”) SAD!!! TRUMP’S “BIG UGLY SHUTDOWN” IS A DISASTER. DEMOCRATS ARE FIGHTING TO STOP IT, TO PROTECT HEALTH CARE FOR 20 MILLION AMERICANS. CROOKED TRUMP AND HIS CRONIES WANT TO TAKE IT ALL AWAY (ONLY FOR THEM TO HAVE!) THEY WANT TO RIP HEALTH CARE FROM GRANDMA, YOUR KIDS, EVERYBODY. VERY SICK! (NOT GOOD!) VANCE AND TRUMP WILL LOSE, BADLY!!! DON, ENJOY YOUR NAP. JD WILL JOIN YOU SOON ON “THE COUCH” (NOW 100% MORE TARIFFED!). THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! — GCN
@neoavatara Am a psychiatrist. This is performative. By nature, as you alluded to, this is a personal journey. Therefore, the outward expression of it is performative at its core. Sure pretend otherwise and I’m sure your supporters will pounce on this. Doesn’t change the nature of the actio
@neoavatara What data do you have to back up claim? You mentioned how the left feels morally superior without any data to back
It up. Aren’t you engaging in the same behavior here?
@neoavatara Original claim vague enough to be true. They’re politicians. Regarding the last point—canine in curiosity of entire commercial news business—fails even at face value. Each individual journalist has a personal incentive to produce a newsworthy story.

🚨 BREAKING: Republicans are spiraling after a senior advisor to Elon Musk hinted he might back Democrats in the 2026 midterms.
The meltdown is already underway and if Elon flips the switch, it could detonate half the GOP’s donor pipeline overnight.
@BalesOnLiberty @orthobro@masiimwem@MattWalshBlog Hey I’m a psychiatrist. It’s true that many ppl don’t I forgot the exact stats maybe 30% but in a good chunk of the population the inattention and hyperactivity deficits do improve. You may have read about the inattentive subtype which has a greater tendency to persist
Says who? Oh, right. A shirtless finance bro account yelling into the algorithm like it’s still 2008.
This take reads like someone skimmed an Econ 101 chapter while doing curls and thought, “Hey, what if I just oversimplify the second-largest economy on Earth into a fast food menu?”
1. “Concede defeat to whatever terms Trump demands”
My dude…
You think a country with 1.4 billion people, a 3.2 trillion-dollar war chest, and a multi-decade plan to dominate AI, biotech, and space… is gonna say:
“Oh no! Trump’s mean again… quick, someone fax him our sovereignty!”
China isn’t a reality TV contestant.
It doesn’t “concede.” It reroutes supply chains through Asia, doubles down on BRICS+, and launches another quantum satellite while the US tweets about banning TikTok.
2. “Devalue the yuan by 20-40%”
Let’s just set the global economy on fire because Twitter finance said so.
First of all:
The yuan isn’t free-floating, it’s managed tighter than a Silicon Valley founder’s ego.
But hey, who needs logic when you have vibes and protein powder?
3. “Unleash $2-3 trillion in fiscal stimulus, go full debt mode”
Newsflash:
China’s been doing massive fiscal stimulus since before you learned what GDP means.
Only difference?
When China spends a trillion, a city appears on a map.
When the U.S. does it, half of a country may disappear on the map and some of that money ends up in someone’s offshore Cayman account and the rest goes to a bridge that never gets built.
By the way, China’s debt is internal, yuan-denominated, and centrally managed.
They don’t need the IMF.
They are the damn bank.
Why I Know Better:
Because I’ve spent over a decade living, working, and studying in China.
Not doomscrolling in an echo chamber with Wall Street rage-bros and gold bug cultists.
I teach economics, I speak the language of policy, not just “end of the world” clickbait finance bro-etry.
You want real insight? Read. Learn. Travel. Speak to economists who’ve touched grass and walked a factory floor in Jiangsu.
If you think China only has 3 options,
then I have news for you:
You’ve got less range than a broken Tesla.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to read an actual IMF report, not doomsday fanfic written by someone who thinks GDP stands for “Guns, Debt, Panic.
Cheers,
Evrim
