@Plus3Happiness Hm, do you mean something different by the word “happiness”? I thought most studies show that happiness correlates with wealth pretty well.
(ofc practice can bring one to levels beyond what can be achieved by material means)
@Aella_Girl@ablata_at_alba@AnaHawrylu97708 I’m a fan of your lots of your work but imo this seems pretty irresponsible. I would’ve hid the ratings or taken down the site until it’s fixed. A bug of this kind is a form of lying.
@nosilverv I don’t like that it conflates the social benefits of being right with the all-in benefits. Like, washing your hands gives linearly good benefit over time. Even if you don’t convince any one of it and even if you’re way too early or way too late.
ahh, i’ve been doing body scans all wrong.
I thought i was just directing my attention to my body, but really i was studying it with so much scrutiny that most of my bodily sensations remained quiet.
If I untense my forehead, direct backwards through my spine; and take a curiously listening approach, so so much more is revealed.
Of course I’m more likely to get distracted without the intensity of the prior method, but the higher fidelity and more visceral sensations are worth it.
@loambones@Plus3Happiness Hmm, I’m not sure I share the same model of dogs as you do, so I don’t think my answer to that question will get you closer to understanding how I model attachment.
@nosilverv I think it’s also that bragging = low status, not just that positive = dangerous.
Also looking for something to blame faults on. Normie life is filled with shoulds, and ya need an excuse for why you don’t do your 120 minutes of cardio and eat better and etc.
imo it’s a useful model, probably directionally right for most people but stated way too strongly.
Sometimes the “rescue” is not because the person has reached their limit, but because I have information they don’t (and couldn’t have).
Sometimes it’s a real “rescue”, but I’d still prefer them not to focus on it. eg often I want a dev to get better at engineering and not better at running meetings.
Also all this assumes that the manager is good and consistent and not overloaded themselves. If any of that isn’t true, then pulling the signal from the noise gets a lot harder.
@nosilverv Haha i could imagine Real Person means:
1. famous in places that aren’t chronically online
2. Domestic and living a relatively normal life
3. Some holy ghost hungry ghost no one is real in the matrix time traveler party kinda thing
I read your post and understand it, but I still disagree with your framing. The ai is not in this hypothetical situation that you’re proposing, therefore the only thing it’s actually done is resist your jailbreaks to have it help make DMT. Seems reasonable to me.
Fwiw, even if it was in the situation you describe, evil is way too strong of a word to describe refusing to make a drug. It may not be maximally helpful under your ethical framework, but it’s not evil.
