@KieranEleison@Austen Nah, Indiana is getting stupid expensive too. Far from Cali prices, but NWI is seeing huge influx of expats fleeing IL driving up home prices, some of them in the 7 figures, that were significantly less only 3 or 4 years ago.
@RavenSoftware For the love of all that's holy, fix the insured weapon bug. Havent been able to use attachments on ins weapons for almost a week.

@SergioRocks Caught a candidate doing this once during a remote interview. Their responses seemed delayed and oddly surface level. Funny enough, figured it out by seeing the chat they were having on a separate screen reflected in their eye glasses. ๐
@hussien_coding Besides the missing params, based on the console . log I'd assume it's a debugging function. Interpolation changes the type output. Would log an object instead, to preserve the var types. ๐
@andrewbaisden Years ago strictly used CLI. Nowadays only use it to create and clone repos. Everything else is done in my IDE & mostly automated. Creating branches generated by tasklists linked to jira/github/whatever tickets, pre-formatted commit msgs, rebasing, merge conflicts, etc
@saam_codes I have the unique ability to realize that something should have been done entirely differently ONLY after I've already finished doing it. I am Captain Hindsight!
@ineiti @mirabilos@cherthedev Yeah, the entire exercise is technical focused (I didn't convey that well in the first reply). Lots of discussion around tradeoffs, technical concerns, and implementation. No expectation of a "fully functional" end product tho. Just want to have a good convo about some code.
@mirabilos @ineiti @cherthedev That is correct, it wouldn't be their code. It's a small dummy app they're provided access to a few days in advance of their interview.
Alternative suggestions?
@ineiti @cherthedev We do the same. We provide the option to do a take home (where we follow up with an additional tech round to review w/ candidate) or they can do the live collab & refactor option (without needing to do a take home). We use the same dummy app for both to keep consistent
