@JokesExplainer@Dadsaysjokes Guess I'm ancient because I remember the time where one would have to wait to have photos developed and also remember how for years it wasn't possible to scan them in so we could look at them on a computer (for example). Well there are worse things in the world I suppose.
Although the ones you want to help are noble there are plenty others who will no longer have as much help. I accept it but I wanted you to know that contrary to what you claim it did make an impact and it's a real shame that you are ending AmazonSmile.
@amazon This is a lie. You're not just as devoted to it because it means people can't choose. You say the fact there were so many options made it 'too thin' to make an impact but I know this is not true because a friend whose charity I donated told me that they DO notice it.
@davidfowl And why would I need a desktop for the command line? What kind of resources do you think Unix development needs ? It doesn't take so much that you need a desktop versus a laptop.
@davidfowl It's a presumptuous statement. It doesn't take into account the different laptops out there. It doesn't take budge into account. It doesn't take a lot of things into consideration. Besides one can use both for different purposes.
@soggy_bottomboy@nixcraft Also AI has done things it was not told to do. Consider that when humans stupidly arm robots. There's plenty to be afraid of. But even if not there's plenty to mock anyway. I've seen facial recognition identify a piece of meat as a face for example.
@soggy_bottomboy@nixcraft AI has some pretty scary parts to it. You know a certain country even has a drone which decides when to shoot. And the things I've seen AI do on top of that - it's a scary thing. Stephen Hawking was right to warn about it but too many don't get it.
@nixcraft Although I agree there are occasions where it's not so simple: not quite the same thing but in the UK you cannot go to https://t.co/Pa26eSbAsc due to licencing restrictions; you have to go to https://t.co/CLod0hT1NI. So there's that.
The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards Winner 2022 has been announced. Our beloved penguins sure win awards too. The complete list is worth checking https://t.co/SGi3X9GPio
@fateswarning86 @nixcraft There is anti-malware software for macOS you know. Nothing is perfect but it's not like you have to be in the dark for most things.
@VauMos_FC_FPL @nixcraft@_i_vida Yes pushing 30 means not yet there.
I have always been in the pushing 30s (in that way and my entire life) and I will be 41 in February.
@Dannyrobyn22@AstraKernel@gcluley I hope you’re right. It doesn’t appear to be updated on the article and they tend to do that but it might depend on when it was brought back up. It’s 2234 after all.
@_Llamaaaa@David46750713@A_B_Vyas@engineers_feed Right. Hakenkreuz. A cynical thing: in India for centuries the swastika was used interchangeably with the yellow star as well. That one looks like unicode but it's been a long time since I've seen it - maybe it's not.
@engineers_feed I guess this is a Windows thing .. not sure as I don't use Windows. I'd guess it might also depend on the browser/configuration. But you can also circumvent paywalls by some very easy tricks as well. Usually because the website trusts the user too much.
